Loving the Current Crop of Players
Granted, the rebuild has been laborious and painstaking, but it has at least been quite rewarding to watch a group of boys slowly transition into men and good athletes.
It's as though our recruiting made a conscious choice to not only get raw talent but also steer clear of getting egotists and douchebags. Perhaps I speak too soon, but I am loving the current crop of players with their no nonsense and business-like approach to playing the game. Richo seems to have the lads very level-headed and they are responding by giving their all for the team. I heard Seb Ross in a radio bulletin today tell of how the team doesn't want to get ahead of themselves at any stage and lose focus on the task each weekend.
Having said that, it appears we are developing a team of consistently skillfull players across the board, as opposed to a team with a few great stars and then the rest of the team being average to mediocre. In all honesty, I can't see a lot of deadwood (if any at all) in our best 22 and even within the fringe-dwellers.
Alright, perhaps I'm getting too far ahead of myself here, but I have to say, our future is looking prettay, prettay, prettay, PRETTY GOOD right now!

And that kind of list enables for good long term replacement of players as they grow through the VFL and develop, meaning that we do not leave ourselves exposed to injuries or retirements. What was once looking bleak when Roo retires, now looks promising that whilst we will never replace him, we will be able o fill the hole quite adequately (step up Members).
Backs still need a bit of support though.

And most of us don't need to increase the use of exclamation marks each time we re quote either.stonecold wrote:Point In Case!!!!!Proph3t of egan wrote:I think all of us lack that, hence why we are on this forumstonecold wrote:Some supporters lack genuine football knowledge or understanding of the club landscape!!!!!Joe Bloggs wrote:We are not the rabble some on here where posting about two weeks ago.

Re: Loving the Current Crop of Players
Rabble?
Not sure anyone has suggested that
We are 8th
We finished 9th last year
The level of optimism and criticism should be pretty even
We are not world beater, nor a rabble?!
High horse supporters and chest beaters are just as silly as doomsday supporters
BTW
Jack Sinclair looks good yeah? Although he dominated vs the 'Hawthorn witches hats'
He backed it up against GWS didn't he?
