Freeman's first goal is the sealer. That was scary. Far too close. But kudos, Nate. Courageous Mark, clutch goal and another game under the belt. 16 possies. Not bad young man.

Sandy will count their lucky stars they got away with that. Were a couple of men down. But got dragged down to Ballarats level. Sandy lacked run too. Mckenzie was good early but didn't do a lot later. Sandy aint a fast team.

So, does that mean that he didn't play any VFL games with Collingwood?? If that's right, I didn't realise that the poor bu@@er had such a bad run.

My understanding is he only played a few preseason games with pies and that was it. So getting 11 games under his belt is a step up. Had one big outside run today which was exciting with a very neat delivery. If he could do more of that you'd start to get excited.

Well done, Nathan !!

There are wins , and there are wins, and it is fair to say that, after the euphoria of last night, that was pretty disappointing.

Not many four quarter performers, but Lonie was great all day. I know he has his detractors, but clearly BOG.

Marshall very impressive. The Hickey prognosis presumably will determine if he gets an elevation to the senior list at this stage.

Rice uses it well.

See Savages's face in the after match song. Looked like he'd sucked a bag of lemons. A really bad look. Not singing or even cracking a grin. He looked, well.......Savage. Maybe he knows his time might be up. On another note, another exciting effort from the Marshall. 13 touches, 6 marks and 3 goals. On a day that was not made for his type. Looked to be our most exciting tall forward. And the thing is, the boy can kick straight, nailing three set shots in very trick conditions. Ironically, he was third in North Ballarat's B&F last year as a 20 year old. I'm excited!

Yep saw Savage looking pissed off. I saw McClunken whinging a bit on the field too. But as I stated before I only saw from 3/4 time on so I hope they all went well

You want to give some credit to McCartin who kicked 2 and probably set up another 3? paddy doesn't get enough credit for everything he does on the field. People just look at the goals and think thats all that matters. The ability to bring other players into the game is essential and Paddy does that as well as smashing packs, smashing players etc.

Bluthy, your trying to convince ...

Paddy was underwhelming, he was well held by a guy giving away height and weight... He is basically one effort... If he doesn't win the ball... He spectates... It's simply because he isn't fit enough to give another effort.

Would like to have seen more today, from a talent and effort POV

It's a fair cop, Bluthy, but I did say most exciting, not best or effective, although he would've gone close. Not downgrading Paddy, but just ATM, I'd rather see the ball in Marshall's hands than Paddy's for the set shot. Both 21, interestingly. Both different types. At this stage it's good to know we've got both of them in development.

We probably won 40 more hitouts but the clearances ended up pretty even - we won them by a puny 8 (45 to 37).

After the Saints' games in Tassie and last night, he knows that he is no longer best 22...
promotion only if 3 guys get injured. There is no room for him now.
Newnes, Webster, Stevens, all these guys are above his level.
Maybe if Joey retires end of this year, he may, just may, get some games next year.

But how do they fit in Armo and Dunstan into the side? Who comes out?

Once you have played senior AFL football you don't want to learn the team song of your affiliate.
Every time you play in a winning affiliate game, you lose.
Only winning in a AFL team is a real win.

In regards Freeman, the fact that he got another full game under his belt is notable, but more notable to me was that he was around the contest all day, so in the mid field all day.

Hopefully, in better conditions, a break out game is just around the corner as he builds touch and confidence.

Today was a real positive to me at least.

They were pretty trying conditions today hence the old time scrap where the expectation used to be that, in adverse conditions, class shone even more so whilst the excuse was that the conditions dragged you to the level of lesser rated opposition.

For the sake of the team and the young guys, ace. You don't need to put in a Pacarotti or Caruso like effort, just sing the damn song. His refusal to even move his lips sends a bad message.

It was a howling gale so it was super difficult to mark.
Paddy got his hands on a few and had a few bites at a few but just couldn't hold them.
But the conditions didn't suit.

I know they "massage' the VFL attendances but today's attendance was low enough to count by sight!
