Happy with Big Jake, unlike some after a year off I wasnt expecting AA form but he is already very good for mine and he frees up Roberton and Gilbert to play smaller and be more damaging.

I do wish he'd do something with that s*** tattoo on his forearm, turn it into a full sleeve or get the other crap removed..

Other that that he's going very well

I'm not a great one for making comparisons, however....... IMHO in Jake Carlisle ( and to some degree Nathan Brown) we have the makings of a super backline with Jake being a smart defender in the class of Max Hudghton.

Serious question

Is he the best field kick in the team?

Leigh Montagna is #1
Jake is close, I have him ahead of Robbo for #2

Been thinking the same for a few weeks. Hits his targets - as does Membrey.

Nathan brown generally doesn't miss, had a couple games at 100% efficiency this year

Both Brown and Carlisle have impressed me with their kicking skills. I thought Brown was meant to just be a stopper. Both hit their targets, take contested marks and are composed. Excellent recruiting. Ditto Steele and Stevens

Carlisle is starting to do things that will make him a star again.

His goal off one step in the last was tasty.

He has some serious ability.

Has Big Jake had a poor game yet?

Don't think he will make it a sleeve, or get it removed. The style the tatt is written in, one way it reads 'Mother' and either upside down or backwards it reads his mother's name. Seems mum was a single mum and brought up him & about 3 sisters, so mum means a lot to him. I think he has all his sisters names tattooed on some ribs!!!!!

Read all this about him years ago in his early days with Essendon.

I thought his tattoo was to show he was big fan of Glenn Danzig.

When your target is goals and you hit them that counts double.

I thought tattoos were to show how stupid you are.
But that's OK.
You can be stupid just so long as you also play great footy for my team only.

Membrey is a bit too similar to those toothless thugs from the Filth.
Jamie Elliott, Dane Swan (R) Dayne Beams (lions now) and others.

I cringe when I see Skunk, but as long as he can kick 3-4 per game, I'm ok

Before we signed him, I had no idea what he even looked like. Now I hunt for that big number 2 during the game, eager to watch his poise and steadiness that he - and Browny - pick to the backline. Becoming one of my favorite players (prolly cos I played in defence myslef lol) and I bet he's so glad he got out of the windy Hill excrement pit

I think he still has a way to go to make up for the massive embarrassment he caused us on the day of his recruiting.
He made us look stupid and amateurish.

I'm really liking what Carlisle is doing.

Him and Brown have really given a solidity to the backline. Who'd have thought 2 key backs would be so helpful? Lol.

GWS will be a good guide to how good this setup can actually be.

Hahaha I'm glad someone got it. Didn't think the likes of Ace would know who Danzig is.
