Yesterday was a coming of age for the new captain. He led from the front with his actions and up to half time was our best player by a mile.
Some on here have doubted his ability to be a great captain. I am quite sure that if had been Roo or Selwood or Hodge performing those inspirational acts and not Geary they might have got more recognition.
He is going to be a great captain

Re: geary
No one has doubted his endevour. TSR Iis talking about his ability to be a great captain.
I for one doubted he was the right choice for the job.
Yesterday gave me confidence that he could really inspire his team and be really damaging and also have a cool head under pressure regarding his disposal.
Great game Captain Geary.

Re: geary
I'm not talking about his endeavour either... I'm talking about his ability
2nd in the b&f last year
Top 5 b&f every year except the year he broke his arm...
He is a gun at the role he plays... ask any player/coach at stk why he was unanimous as a choice for captain. He sets the example and holds people to account who don't deliver on saints expectations.
Captains don't need to be stars, they need to set examples and communicate example to others.

Re: geary
Bob Murphy ranked him in the top 5 of the most underrated players in the league. That's high praise coming from a long time opponent and someone who, IMHO, is a very good judge. Like St. Loxton, I doubted he was the right man for the job. I thought roo should've kept going, but having seen his first month in the role, I dips me lid to Jarryn.

Re: geary
Currently getting praise heaped on him by the panel On the Couch.
Leading by example. Not hard to see why he was such a popular choice for skipper.
Etc.
Played an absolute blinder on Sunday. So happy for him and for us.

Re: geary
The back six were fantastic as a whole. All did really good things at different stages, although I wouldn't say The Filth have the strongest of forward line at the moment. Still, you can only beat whats in front of you,and they did it well. Next game we will hopefully see what Brown and Carlise can really do going against Hawkins and co. We seem to be doing quite well shutting out other teams best midfielders in the last few games so if we can keep at least one of Dangerwood quite, we have a great chance. Go Saints!!

#1: Sean Dempster! (Article before his retirement)
#2: Nick Smith of the swines
#3: Rory Laird (Crows)
#4: Liam Shiels (Dorks)
#5: Our Jarryn.
Said Dempster was his hardest ever opponent and many others agreed with him. High praise indeed.

Re: geary
Next week will be a huge test but orobably at the right time. We've just had a couple of wins and, hopefully, Jack Steven will be back. Will be a big test for our mids and defence. I'm really looking forward to it.stkfc1 wrote:The back six were fantastic as a whole.
