I have him leading the B&F

Comfortably

Outstanding start to the season

Backline is very strong

Webster has also been very good, Brown and Jake getting better

Fwd line is good (except kicking)

Midfield is patchy

Ross has been the best mid... I would have him running second in the B&F

Defence was amazing....
Mid field strong and forward line needs to start converting.
Jack Steven back next week will be a cracker

Carlisle was huge I thought. Also the skipper has a fairly cool head under pressure.

Really impressed by him. Defense was extraordinary today.

Geary's a new man now he's got that matrix of leadership in the chest.

Geary has been exactly that player for 5 years

Last 5 seasons (except broken arm season) he's finished high in the B&F

Last year Runner Up

He's a quality small defender, be good if we could get our head around that?!

My observations (TV) are:

Geary no change to recent years, reliable and tough as.
Carlisle really starting to come into his own, as is Nathan Brown
Forwards leading into the right areas, majority of time
Forwards missing very gettable goals
Midfield serviceable, will obviously be better with Jack back, but the weak link at this stage

Has been building. Will reach his best in about 4 rounds I reckon

He was always hot-rod, I know, but he's Rodimus Prime now I'm convinced of that.

(Sorry, I'll lay off the Transformer references.) :)

The back 6 as a whole worked really well!

Carlisle keeps getting better.

Geary is as tough as ever.

Jimmy Webster is a very, very nice player

Gresham's class was a real stand-out as well. Did good things forward and in the middle. Hopefully he'll take the Jack Steven route for us.

Robbo also rarely misses a target. Great game today.

I've never been a fan of Webster but he played very well today.

On the whole, the defenders and overall defense get about 9/10 (whereas offense gets about 2/10) for today's game.

Roberton is the glue down there, playing very much like prime Sam Fisher. Not at that level yet but in that mould.

Carlisle looks great. His reach is so long, he stays in contests really well. I wish we'd look for him more at times as a target because his hands are safe and his foot skills quite neat.

Geary's one-on-one contested work is top bloody notch.

What is it about Jimmy you don't rate?

I've always been impressed by the guy -- though, granted, I only get to see his game time.

Great kick, good under pressure and not that error prone.

Webster is as tough as nails, no question. But he is also a bit of a space cadet and his dispoal is inconsistent.

Previously he has been caught out for not paying enough attention and been caught for a lack of awareness. Even when Armitage got run down in the centre square, Jimmy could have been more aware...same as Armo, of course.

Tough as nails, but I've never been convinced of his ability to focus on the task the whole time and to use the ball neatly more often than not.

His career did almost end with that ankle injury a few years back. Wow, the surgeon did a great job.

Noticed it in the JLT. That's quite a back six we're developing. Roberton had a mighty game today.
