I'm pretty confident Ben will be ok. He's close to senior selection and impressed everyone during pre-season. He certainly has some unique skills, ones we can well do with. Let's at least see him play senior footy before passing judgement as to how good he might be compared to others. Other teams get it right and wrong just as we do. Give the kid a chance. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. The WB and several others were very keen on him, always a promising sign when you get a little deeper into the draft.

Hindsight is so wonderfull.....I can't recall a single post suggesting we take Parfitt before the draft....and I can't recall a single post suggesting we should have taken Parfitt after the draft.

For that matter, I dont recall a poster suggesting we should have taken the Bont ahead of Billings....but as for Paddy...well, there were plenty who were keen on Patracca...

“Longy was excellent, especially in the second half where he played forward-midfield. He just throws himself at every contest and when he does that something usually comes of it. He’s a talented kid, he knows how to find the footy. He will be a lot better for the run. I don’t see him being in the VFL system for too long ."

1) Patracca didn't interview well (wanted to be a Demon, not a Saint).

2) Patracca is full of himself and only cares about Christian.

3) Paddy is a much more stable person and is what we need long-term, actually cares for others(Club MAntra).

Ryan Burton was the round 2 nominee. He was given Sam Mitchell's number. We took Gresham with the the pick before Burton. Gresham has not been nominated this year for the rising star.

Trouble is Gresham should have gone top 5.

Petracca is also fat! That will be a problem his whole career. As an Italian boy, I know an Italian boy that enjoys his mother's cooking way too much. He's one of them. He is is also not that quick, could be a problem for him when hard tags come back into vogue (and they will). This is why Goddard never played much in midfield and played across half back (a waste of his talent). He didn't have the foot speed to break a hard tag.

Haven't watched much of petracca so don't know if it's common sight but have noticed his first 3 steps look like treacle.
