Least turnovers in the league

Post: # 1659603Post Proph3t of egan »

A lot of comments about our lack of skill around the ground, but turns out that we turn over the ball the least out of any team in the league.

Just an interesting fact I thought

Is that total turnovers or turnovers as a percentage of disposals?

We are 17th for disposals per match, 230 behind Melbourne already… can't turn it over if you don't have it :D

Have a look at disposals per goal.

I expected more turnovers against the Lions.

Because you know a team coached by Fagan has got to pick a pocket or two.

A poor kick or handball shouldn't be judged solely on whether it's a turnover or not though.

If you have a bloke 20m clear up the ground, but shank the kick and as a result you've turned it into a 50/50 - it doesn't count as a turnover. May well have cost you a goal, but it's not a turnover.

Considering how inaccurate we are in front of goal, that stat might not represent the situation the best. I see there a disposals per shot on goal stat?

Positive stat shows that our ball use has improved at least. Is it just a perception or are we are hugging the boundaries a lot more when coming out of defence - almost Malthouse like?

We are 15th in the league for effective disposal percentage with 70.7, only ahead of carlton, sydney and brisbane… so 3 wins between the four clubs so far.
