I'm not concerned about Paddy, we may even have him covered with either Marshall, Battle or Goddard, Godard also a lovely kick for goal.
It'd be a bit disappointing but then that's the draft for you.

Billings still looks like a school boy playing afl, there's no power in his handballs for example, he has the skills but perhaps he needs to build up, he's the opposite of Curren.

Paddy seems uncertain when he takes a mark 40 metres of a 45 angle, he looks to dish it off no matter what, confidence not sure, perhaps he's worried he'll get found out, It's not something Roo, Bruce or Membrey would do, unless there was a better option. Full forwards are there to kick goals. not to dish it off to a roaming defender for example.

He's a good mark and has a long kick, accurate no, not to this date, doesn't do enough, struggling to get in the right position, struggling to take marks when he does and can't win his own ball..

Still its early days and he's young time will tell

Long, Battle and an upgraded Marshall are all options rather than the current non performers.
Can't agree with Savage.
Yes he is a bit soft, but like Gilbert he gains quite a few metres in between turnovers.
Has genuine pace and doesn't fear taking the game on!

I worry about our development coaching...Gresh made an impact from day one, but he's a standout. Why do we continually require 4-5 years for the kids to come good (or be delisted) when every other club seems to be concentrating on getting them over the second year blues? IMO we need to pinch John Blakey!

We've missed the boat trading Billings. We'd be lucky to get a pick inside 30 for him now. He has no value.

It's an Essendon plot...Billings is a double agent! Now he'll get a trade and reach his Uber Bont potential elsewhere.

SEN rated Petracca 8 out of 10 for his game in a losing side yesterday. They said that every time he got near the ball the Geelong fans' sphincter muscles tightened. They rated Billings and McCartin 3/10 and 1/10 respectively for their games today in a winning side.

Petracca plays for Melbourne, enough already. I think we're all far more concerned over the 'talent' we have, not the players we passed on.

well it was always clear that petracca was much better than mccartin and was the no.1 but we passed. However, Billings was an excellent, skilled junior and it made complete sense picking him up at no.3 however that has turned out to be a bust. Whats sad is that Dunstan and Acres are better players than him from the same draft year. Gee we messed up bad. Best thing to do now is package about Billings and trade him to essendope

I reckon Petracca's a gun mid, but would be a pretty crap full forward. And yes, Billings has been worse than disappointing at this stage.

That's true degruch, but what we should have done is just pick the best player available and then adapt our game plan accordingly. It was a mistake to draft for a specific perceived need, and ignore the (much) better player. You are probably also probably right that we should just get over it and move on.
