Climbing Everest and beating WCE

Post: # 1655693Post saintspremiers »

People do the impossible and climb Everest.

Beating WCE in Perth is an easier task though.

The absolute rocket AR should give the boys will rev them up
Like no one's business.

The boys will be fresh/ they hardly played on Saturday.

Hot conditions (29 max), full sun for most of the first half due to 4.40pm local start and 6.10pm sunset
and no Roo makes a win seem an impossible option, together with WCE form today.

I'm tipping an upset.

And no, I'm not smokin' the crack pipe!

Can see us getting absolutely smashed.

Our cocaine snorter will be no match for Kennedy.
Don't think we have an obvious matchup for Le Cras either.
Their forward line will run riot.

Plus with Mitchell firing and Prickus gathering frees we will lose the battle of the mids.

Nathan Brown held Kennedy to 3.6 and 2.2 in 2 games last year - adequate

Old man Le Cras will get smothered by Gears

Darling will get Dempstered

Carlisle will float in the hole and take 10+ marks

Crapps will do just that after Webster tears him a new one

I'm predicting we'll come out firing and that we'll be right in the game. No way this is an impossible task, nowhere near it.

Hickey's confidence will rock bottom after Gawn gave him a pasting, so that will be the first hurdle.

Second will be getting on top in the midfield, which WCE have a lot more fire power in that department.

Third will be getting on top of Kennedy and stop him kicking a bag.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

I was sadly thinking that. 0 - 2 with a shocking percentage.

Might be a chance against West Coast.

Priddis and Mitchell aren't bad matchups for Ross and Armo/Dunstan.

Carlisle and Brown can earn their keep with Darling and Kennedy.

They'll be drinking their own bath water as they do over there, and we'll be all over this placebo of preparing for interstate games differently.

Could be an upset.

Love your optimism SP but anything less than a 10 goal loss is more realistic - people have over rated our list and out coach over the pre season.

Make no mistake, if Richo puts the ticket up the team and makes it clear he's prepared to make changes if players don't pull their weight they WILL respond. It's only round 2. They simply have to

Calling it now - We will WIN

There is no way the boys don't come out firing after last week. They know they didn't work hard enough and Richo knows there was criticism of him not making any tactical changes when the Dee's kicked 10 in a row. He'll be more fired up than anyone else.

I feel it.

I would rather back myself to climb Everest next Sunday, than back us to beat west cocaine eagles. Without oxygen. The north face. No Sherpas. And I'm not in, ahem, peak physical condition.

I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

I gotta say, I admire the optimism. I really do.
However, I really think you should be allowing for a total thrashing next week, THEN re post that on the approach to the Brisbane game. At Etihad, At 1.10pm on a Sunday ! Will be a miracle if there is 20,000 there.

Your over estimating how much winning a game of football actually means to a young player today. OH they will TELL you its the be all and end all, but you know...it just isnt.

Rarely gets past the wing when St Kilda play at Subiaco

I remember when we beat them in Round 9 2004 at Docklands by 101 points. It was the game when Leigh Fisher did his hammy and was really never the same player again. I notice that he umpired on the weekend. He might have our game. Nick is the only player from either team still playing, although he will miss the game.

Why is Carlisle allowed to float? I have heard that commentary on here a bit??

Why would an opposition coach allow that, a 200cm just to sit in the hole at chub on his own?? why wouldn't a chb have a direct opponent???

Fanciful thinking

What Carlisle needs to do is man the f*** up and not play loose

Whats wrong with playing an extra guy down back that guy being Carlisle - man up their forwards with other players (ie: bring Dempster in)

If they put someone on Carlisle then that clogs up their forward line

I remember Essendon playing Wallis (their CHB at the time) loose down back in the hole and they held Lockett to 0

Rather than being reactive we need to force them to react - get them to make changes and play around with their game plan

We need to try something different over there in Perth
