Re: Roo's knee. Is this the end?
Yes, well, I sort of understand the pessimism, having done an ACL myself (and the pop is unmistakable), but I would be seriously, hugely surprised if the Doctors and physios in 2017 were mistaken in clearing him of structural damage and telling him it's not an ACL.
Let's hope they're right.

Yes, scans will reveal the truth
But having done one... mine 'popped'
I went back on into a forward pocket but couldn't turn so went to hospital
In hospital it felt fine, I thought maybe a week or two as it was swelling
12 months
Never got stability back and lost agility

Sorry to hear that BM. Mine freezes up in winter still.BigMart wrote:Yes, scans will reveal the truth

But I think it is realistic to expect that the champ is in pretty good hands.

Remember Lenny's? Played on and only discovered it during the following week. I'm not as hopeful as some.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

His right knee is rooted anyway.
Good chance it is curtains if it needs to be opened up at all.
Shitty way to end it.

Can we blame it on that fat singer wrecking the surface last week?

Re: Roo's knee. Is this the end?
I also fear or expect the worst.
Not uncommon for strong quads to stabilise the knee in these situations, but the minute there is weight bearing and any change of direction it will be gone.
The pop agonising pain and then lack of pain is classic ACL, will be hoping I am greatly wrong but Lenny managed to play with one.
The result last night was one thing but the thought of Roo finishing like that is gut wrenching.

Or
I just don't kid myself, sugarcoat, live in fairy land
Or
Just say it how it is, not how I want it to be..
I am hoping like hell Roo is ok
He is a better version of Trevor Barker imo

Re: Roo's knee. Is this the end?
I wish no ill on Rooey but if he doesn't play again St Kilda will be better for it.
HE WILL NOT BE AROUND FOR OUR NEXT FLAG TILT SO IT'S BETTER WE GET USED TO PLAYING WITHOUT HIM SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!
The same goes for Joey, Dempster and Gilbert.

Thanks jax. Is that from the scans or just reiterating what the docs were saying last night?jaxons wrote:Riewoldt confirmed no structural damage.

Re: Roo's knee. Is this the end?
Sorry to be a skeptic and I'm not qualified in any way, but as Junior said above, storng muscles can make the knee seem stable. A friend of mine's doctor was convinced his ACL was fine, but scans showed later that it had ruptured.magnifisaint wrote:He said confirmed.shrodes wrote:Thanks jax. Jaxons has the scan been done already?

True. But without knowing the actual problem he might still be out for 6-10 weeks.SemperFidelis wrote:Best Three Words Ever.saintsRrising wrote:SemperFidelis wrote:Apparently just mentioned on Gameday, but did not hear myself.
