Stadium roof - open or closed?

Post: # 1654988Post perfectionist »

I've lost track of the latest policy. There's a forecast of some showers. Does that mean the roof will be closed?

It's always closed for twilight games.

Have NEVER been so hot at any game, ever. We all lost kilos in there.

If you were at home and wondering why we looked like witches hats after half time, that was definitely a contributing factor.

But strangely not for Melbourne

I agree, and as I said elsewhere, one of the key issues is why.

It was very hot up on level 3. Then out on the concourse there was a breeze and it was a refreshing change. What an uncomfortable evening at the footy. If only there was a way they could have let all that hot air out of the building...

If that is discovered maybe they can use the same method on here when we lose.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Speaking of stadium policies, last year they consistently displayed stats moving around the electronic billboards.
Tonight there was hardly anything - just adds.
Is that because adds pays and the AFL don't want to bore us with useful information?

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Yep, and no player stats during the game either.

As for the roof not being opened even a few metres shows some
level of either sheer arrogance by the AFL and
their policies or mental retardation by the decision makers.

I'm going with both options.

Oh, but I hear Gil in the background saying "there was a chance of rain"!

Yes, correct you f***wit there was, but there was also an 100% chance the joint would be a sauna also

Footy Classified addressed the oppressive conditions at Etihad last week which was also really uncomfortable for the coaches as well

Also. The concert a week before also had a direct effect on the game. It shouldn't be allowed to happen when the AFL owns the stadium.

The wifi hardly worked either. And then I couldn't get the 4G to work.

And why did they need to shut off Bourke Street at King St. Something to do with the Grand Prix which was kilometres away and finished long before our game ended.

There was something else I needed to get off my chest. Now I remember. We were hopeless.

We made some key skill errors throughout the second quarter and Melbourne found some belief. Had we not made those errors, we would have been 10 goals up at 3/4 time and Melbourne would still be wondering what happened. That heat was a factor and I'm glad the boys didn't use it as an excuse, but holy shyte it was draining just being there
