Richo on 360

What really annoys me about that segment is that Whately (rabid Cats supporter) directs most of the questions to Chris Scott and Geelong issues.
I have timed this to my frustration and find that on average 75 to 80% of the time is Geelong issues while Richo sits there like a tailors dummy.

No thats because Scott can give an intellectual broader footballing answer. Richo is as dull a media performer as I have seen since Craig when he was with Adelaide, not very bright is our AR.

Watch it a bit closer -he doesn't get the chance.
Still prefer Richo to Scott.

Richo is measured and careful in his responses. Like a politician. Why? Because he is running a team of 40+ players, and assistant coaches, and has to answer to a board.

He needs to deliver a very broad message, that the folks who matter can understand, they can read between the lines,
but at the same time, he can't give the media any rubbish that they can take out of context later.
It's a fine balancing act, and it's not bloody easy.
I don't care a fat rat's clacker what he says publicly, whether he says "positive" and "pleasing" and "strong" 20 times a minute,
as long as the players and other coaches can get an honest message behind closed friggin doors
and they know what is expected.

This other public stuff is just smoke and mirrors.

Yep Richo's win/loss is about 25% and Scott's nearly 60% - yep he is definitely a beauty!

How do you know its any different behind closed doors?

When I worked for an insurance company call centre (which was like Scientology) our managers told us a lot of things in meetings,
but when we spoke to our customers, we only told them what they needed to know.
E.g. our managers emphasised "try to get people to pay by monthly direct debit, because our stats show that those
folks have 72% retention, they forget when the policy is up for renewal, so they don't notice the price increase"
(that's how we kept customers, by stealth, it's not illegal at all, we send out renewals 30 days in advance, if they don't read it, it's on their heads)

Would I tell a customer that?
