$10m deal - gymnasiums, altitude rooms, offices, locker rooms etc.

Pictures of planned building - two storey quite a grand looking structure, but could possibly host games down at Frankston in 10-15 years

Press conference about to commence in 10 mins or so

St Kilda not putting much money into the deal - mostly Frankston and State government

Robert Harvey to lead an "I love Frankston" parade through the city on the weekend, and the council and city are really happy at the moment with getting the Saints there.

More to come - Matt Thompson SEN.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Carn't you listen to SEN and then post a report for our attention.

Incidently, I'm amused by your avatar - are you really a highly paid, underworked member of our esteemed Public Service? If you are, you certainly have the time to report to us, not us to you, for it is you who is the "fatcat".

There was no live cross......justa reporter summarisng....which OWTS has reflected.

The part about games at Frankston though was purely the reporter speculating .....

Was there any word spoken regarding sponsorships?

As I said in the other thread, they would be crazy to announce sponsorship at the same time as this - it would get lost with all the focus on Frankston.

I'm sure they will announce the sponsorship stuff once the air has cleared re: this move (in a couple of weeks).

In the short term Chook, the Club must maintain the Pokies and therefore the Social Club at Moorabbin. The alternative is, surrender the Pokies licence and walk away thus closing the Social Club - that would certainly please those idiots that call themseves Councillors at Kingston, particularly the prick that lives just near the ground who is everything ante StKFC.

It is obviously the Clubs's ultimate plan to re-establish the Social Club elsewhere, say a Pub which already has Pokies. Until that Pub is located, it is only viable for the Moorabbin facility to continue for the cash flow it produces.

that would be right. And probably looking into the future to open anther pokies/social club in frankston down the track but that would be dependant on other clubs closing down to get there pokies. We have a lease at moorabbin for anther 15years? and the pokies there bring in 1 million a year revenue for us so why lose them?

fact sheet'

things to note

reduced input from St Kilda, greater input by the State govy, and input from Frankston (kingston was going to put more inbut that was towards tearing down stands).

apparently we get the land as a freehold

partnership with the dolphins in co using facilities. Hmmmmmmm

(Freehold is defined as: 'The highest form of estate in land, and the nearest the law allows a real property owner to approach complete ownership. A freehold estate is one which is of unlimited duration, that is to say, it cannot be said of an estate of freehold at the time of its creation when it will come to an end.'1)

If the business is operated from a freehold owned by the vendor, vendors should decide whether it would be advantageous to include or exclude the freehold from the sale. A sale for the business only (not including the freehold) will make it more affordable and therefore attractive to more buyers. Retention of the freehold by the vendor may also provide a retirement income stream (rental income).

However, there may be circumstances where the freehold from which the business is operated is the key selling feature and separating it from the whole offering could be detrimental. Prospective purchasers may not really be interested in the business but the actual freehold premises. Whether the freehold remains as part of the business sale is something that freehold owners should decide before putting the business up for sale.
