No way would I agree to change the name. Can't do it anyway because of the clubs constitution.

St Kilda is our name, and it should always be so, even IF (a massive 'if') we ever host games at Frankston.

Haen't be in St Kilda since '64, anyway.

i don't particularly want to change the name either but the idea of making a stronger connection with our new home and the locals makes sense...

any1 have ideas on how we can do this w/o changing the name?

The community facilities that are going to be built as a result of our relocation might help.

Oh When the Saints wrote:Don't shoot me for this and personally I don't want it to happen, but I'm just floating it up there ...

Our heritage is very much "St Kilda", and people identify the club as "St Kilda" - not so much the Saints.

Despite having no connection with the St Kilda area for 40+ years, we have maintained the name and identity that accompanies that.

With the move to Frankston looking fairly long-term, and a return to St Kilda itself nigh on impossible, is it an appropriate time to consider the club's name?

Would the "Bayside Saints" or somesuch similar name be appropriate? It is wider and more inclusive of the area we want to own ...

Thoughts? (I expect 5 pages of replies that say "no")

Blaspemy to even suggest such a thing or even raise it for discussion

We are St.Kilda and we belong back in St.Kilda

This move makes no difference to the interstaters who wouldn't know the difference between Cranbourne and Frankston.
Your constant working of irrelevant gay references into most of your posts is childish

Youve been warned before..now its a public one. Stop it.
What's wrong with Gay references. I think you have the problem!
you make them all the time, practically stalking one particular persons posts...

you need to stop it, the warning stands.

Southern Saints

Re-market the club, capture the southern area and secure the club's future forever.

I would like to keep it as St.Kilda, not because of our history and all that other stuff, just because St.Kilda sounds cool...

Suggesting the name change of our club would be an absolute disaster.

ESPECIALLY GIVEN OUR SOCIAL CLUB WILL HOPEFULLY BE BASED IN ST KILDA, SO TOUGHEN UP YOU SOOK!

WOULD VOTE THIS BOARD OUT IN 2 SECONDS IF A NAME CHANGE WAS EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT.

So does Bayside Beach Boys.

And we can change our logo to Molly Meldrum.

Changing our name would mean giving up a huge part of our identity and heritage. Definite no from me.

Is this going to like GT running out of petrol incident, in terms of pointless trivia which you will try and cast aspersions of them, and point to as the catalyst/symptom of every action.

No one enjoys reading when it has to be plastered in every thread.
