Post: # 490962Post S.A Saint »

H i was just interested if anyone knew how the boys are training.

Did they do the 3km time trial as other clubs seem to be doing it and poting results.

It would be appreciated if you guys could shed some light on this.

thanks

It seems the club are keeping everything top secret this year..
As far as I'm aware we still don't even have a pre-season snapshot on AFL.com.au

First open session next Friday, so we should get some news then.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

I spoke with Goose yesterday at a cafe in Hampton St and asked him how it was going. He said the boys are really excited about the coming yr especially having a rated ruckman in Steven King. Also asked about Michael Gardner and he said he was traveling great at the moment. Matt looked in awesome shape and his leg injuries are a thing of the past. The team are off to the country to do a week of training (he told me where but cant remember)in the next couple of weeks. Funny thing happened while I was talking to him, he had a opened bottle of coke on the counter and in his animated gesturing he sent that bottle flying across the counter with coke flowing all over the place. I felt bad for him and actually apoligised for taking his attention away.....mind you the girls serving in that cafe' tend to do that anyway......they all rate highly!!

If people are planning to head down on Friday morning I was told by my friend who works at the club to ring on Thursday and make sure it is still at Moorabbin. They are expecting a change because of the state the oval is in. Just thought i'd let you guys know.

Club has confirmed that training tomorrow (Friday 23rd Nov) is at Elsternwick Park at 8.30am.

Definately not at Moorabbin.

They know I don't believe in anything, either.

Looks like I'll have to work and just annoy Grammy another day.

I called into the Elsternwick oval this morning and had a chat with the curator - he told me that the squad trained there yesterday as well. I called into the club later and checked out the oval - it's looking much better since the rains - looks like we will be training back there real soon.

Nope..its on the Sandringham line....about 7 stations from Flinders St. Elsternwick Park (Home of the VAFA) is about a 15 walk Id reckon straight down Glenhuntly Rd. Cross Nepean Hwy and its about 300m-odd further down.

Walk out of the station and turn left into Glenhuntly Road.
Cross Horne Street (home of the Daily Planet, past McDonalds and the Petrol Station on the corner of Nepean Highway.
Cross the highway, walk past the putting green/pro shop of Elsternwick Golf Course, past the Bowls Club and the entrance to the ground is next on the left.
A 5-10 minute walk from the station.
