Will we re-draft Watts ala Ferguson last year?

Post: # 475243Post Sam23 »

Would we use our last pick to redraft him like we did Ferguson this year?

I think we should, sure he's slow but he is a natural footballer with terrific hands and a great kick.

Don't believe we will, however the Dogs will have a close look at him, personally I would have like to see us keep him never really had a chance.....

No point.

Why delist and redraft if you already have the space on your list anyway.

Last year it was due to having to draft at least 3 players a year and we didn't have space on the list for fergs. This year we do so we don't have to do it again.

So no it wont happen.

Anyway, he can't apply for the National Draft if he's delisted after the trade period. Must go through PSD.

Am I reading this right. The man we traded our first round draft pick for 2 years ago has been delisted.

WTF is this for real. He has not been inj. free for a day he has been at the club. And they have not been soft tissue re runs either but rotten luck collision ones.

I cant believe this. I am not saying he is the next GTrain but FFS he has hardly had a chance.

i tend to think theres more to it .. we wouldnt cut a bloke for not showing anything while injured unless there was a feeling he couldnt contribute to the teams success
i would put my faith in the guys who see every training run and weighhts session and every team meating to make the call on who will make it and who wont

May well be more to it trav but is still a terrible waste of a 1st round draft pick only 2 years on.

Get him on the park to train...if he shows improvement now that he is injury free then i wouldnt be upset at all if we picked him up again

We might not get the chance. No-one else was interested in Ferguson last year, Sydney, Footscray and Carlton are probably already sniffing around Watts

And the first round draft was used to select ... drum roll ... Darren Pfeiffer

Games: 0
Goals: 0

Turns up late to training and get involved in fisticuffs in Adelaide hotels.

And while you lament the loss of the pick for Watts, Adelaide fans lament using the pick for Pfeiffer.

Adelaide made the correct call on Pfeiffer this week, as the Saints have with Watts.

Move on!

If ever there was a player who was slower than Whitnall, hard to believe I know, it would probably be Watts.

I'm sure it could've been due to a lack of match sharpness and a combination of other things but he looked like a duck out of water against the Eagles that night in Perth. Horrible he was.

were we expecting a John Coleman in literally his first afl game (for the saints)?

he has been fair enough in the reserves before and after his injury

Fair enough. But he did look incredibly out of his depth, it has to be said.

I had him down as the next Jason Dunstall after watching that video of his 9 goal haul in the WAFL that someone posted on here.

Just proves that you really could make anyone look good with a highlights package though, eh?
