no evidence behind it

waldren apparently left the club under less than standard procedures so the club can deny by saying he has a grudge on us...

typical responses from all those carlton supporters

edit: noticed a spelling mistake

I heard it live and it was definitely said in jest.

He was making the point that Carlton had achieved an awful lot by tanking and KB joked that he had tanked when at the Saints and he jokingly agreed.

Someone then rang up and said GT had a new nickname:-

Thomas the Tank

BW said it over and over again

We were not good enough to tank in those years.

He is still a Saints supporter today, with a 'soft spot' for Richmond as well.

The issue that required him to leave the Club turned out to be a huge loss for us.
He was sensational in his job for us.

I heard it live as well and said they definately DID NOT tank.

Said the difference between Carlton 2007 and St.Kilda 2000/2001 was tha Carlton had players and the Saints didn't and that if anyone watched the Carlton v Essendon match this year it was obvious that Carlto tanked.

Anyway if we tanked why did we beat Freo at Craptus Oval about R20 of 2002? If we didn't we would have got Goddard and Wells.

Carlton are deadset tankers we all know they are cheats and attempt to buy premierships with crooked Presidents.

the more things change the more things stay the same at Carlton the cheats.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Just another boardroom squabble wasn't it? I might need assistants to get the full story though.

Agree though that Wally was great for St Kilda as CEO.

I heard it too and it was definately tongue in cheek, it was more about them trying to get that senile, AFL loving Yoda, KB to agree that the system is flawed when sides get rewarded for failing to try to win. Of course the senile one wouldn't listen, as per usual, and kept trying to turn it back on Waldron.

Waldron also said Collingwood tanked 3 years ago and Balme was very quiet, did not disagree.

What they all failed to say was that no one even hinted St Kilda tanked back in 2000 / 2001. This has only really come to light once Collingwood put the cue in the rack mid season, a year after playing off in two consecutive Grand Finals.

We know it, Carlton know it, they layed down like dogs and are being rewarded for it. Everyone knows bar the d@ckhead in charge of the League and his media speedhumps like Bartlett.

I heard pretty much the whole rant - and there's no need for an apology -he did carry on like a goose.

If he listens to the tape, he will be regretting a lot of the things he said.

Just hope it does not come back and bite the StKFC on the arse!

I'll fess up also - as I could not resist ringing in and christening GT as "Thomas the Tanker"

Shame on the crow!

I'm loving this - underdogs at 3 to 1, grand final experience in our favor and Pies over confident. Go Saints - I'm loading up!

I sort of heard it in the background and he also said that we didnt tank we just sent all our players in for surgery but thats the system isnt it Neil youd know about that when you were at the Pies or something like that anyway.

He did say at one stage "of course we tanked" but he was laughing at the time and it was tounge in cheek but it still didn't sound great.

Someone rang in and said you have had your go wally now let me have mine then went on to say the AFL should investigate the saints and what wally had said but that was it he was soon cut off KB then went onto something else i think, it was all a bit strange there for a minute.

anyone who was there at the time will remember of our 6million dollar salary cap we had 4 1/2 million sitting in the stands against collingwood.

FG, hammil, harvey, kosi, hayes etc etc.

it was a shocking run of injuries.

Goose as a 18 year old out rucked fraser and we were dragged back into the game by the sheer guts of the kids, till rocca (and look we should have done the same) just ran into the back of goose with his knees, and cleaned him and the remnants of the saints up.

the reality is you have 6m of talent and what you get out ont he park dictates your form.

thats why to some degree I felt we underperformed in 07, because we had players missing but we had an aweful lot of our 'good' players available.

st kilda in 00 to 02 had a run of injuries that woudl have crushed many sides.

carlrot HAD their A team available by and large as did melbourne. richmond decided to tank from round 1.
