Re-cycled Players

Post: # 473994Post chook23 »

Whilst Hamill/gehrig/Voss examples of it working

There is plenty to suggest that it does not

Re-cycled mediocre players

Ackland/knobel/mcgough etc etc

Is this going to work out

:o :o

We have absolutely smoked it this draft. To think we've got three premiership players and Charlie Gardner (not sure why they bothered with Charlie), for pick 26 & 90. Great work Rossy.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head here. This was probably done to help out King as Saint have a better shot at a premiership in the next 2 years than blues or tigers. Geelong would not even use pick 90
they have to use it now that have traded for it.
They have committed to taking Donohue as a Father/son pick. As no on else bid for him they can effectivley use any pick to take him. Perhaps they will now use pick 90 for donohue instead of their fourth rounder?

The rule regarding traded picks was changed two years ago, according to SEN. They do not have to be used.

Gardiner I'm quite pleased with, really think we can do something with him and the price sure is right.

King included in the deal for crappy Pick 90 (we may have passed on it anyway) is pretty much a steal, so I'm not too fussed even though he is old and injury prone. Just don't offer him too much $$.

charlie gardiner can seriously play the cats have just run out of salary cap. King, c Gardiner, Schnieder and Dempster for picks 26 and 90??? thats fantastic we really have a chance in 2008 all things go well. Gives Koschitzke full forward and forward ruckman.
I think Lyon has great plans for this list!!

We may not delist either Brooks or Rix.

Remember that G-Train has retired and Kosi amy very well be ear-marked to replace him at FF, which means we need to replace 2 ruckmen (Clarke retiring and Kosi going to FF)

Therefore we may be anticipating a ruck division of :-
Gardiner (M)
King
Rix
Brooks

Sydney already took Playfair from Geelong.
