Matthew Clarke, MK II.

Why throw away spots on our list for geriatics who'll stick around 5 minutes.

Let someone else develop them.

Josh Fraser was a No. 1 draft pick 8 years ago!!

Number 1!

Yet he's still coming along. He's by no means a star ruckman, and may never be, but won't be close until he's matured physically.

The play the role of a ruckman, a true ruckman, you need physical maturity.

It can take 10 years in the system to come good.
Frasers body is shot.

Don't dwell on the past.
Look to the future.

I see differences.

One, I always Clarke was a dud anyway - old or not.

Two, Clarke had retired.

Three, King is 28.

Four, King's last game was very good and against very good opponents.

Five, with King we'd suddenly have 3 Permiership players on our list.

Six, King is physical. Clarke isn't. Our side is a bit timid at the moment - or at least certainly don't intimidate other sides.

Whilst there seems to be overriding support for King, cant help but think Riccardo will be right. Can see rnd 18 next year with Rix and Blake in the ruck, with Gardi, King and thier ruck coach Clarke all on the sidelines.

In a year we would have gained three ruckman, all over or nearing 30, and all contirbuting zero... Monkhurst syndrome...

His body is shot because he played a role his body wasn't ready for.

Like most ruckmen, they take a long time to develop.

This is why drafting them is Ok, but won't always benefit you for years to come.
