Brett Voss retires

Post: # 458701Post Bono »

St Kilda’s Brett Voss has today announced his retirement from the Club after seven seasons.

“After discussions with Ross Lyon and the coaching panel, I am announcing my retirement from
AFL football. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with St Kilda Football Club and leave the game
extremely proud of what I have achieved, and confident that I have given myself every opportunity to
make the most of my time as an AFL footballerâ€

Thanks V2.

Never held in the esteem you deserved. Enjoy your retirement.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

*stands and applauds V2*

Vossy came to us when we were a rabble, with a few other blokes. He understood the culture of the place and worked bloody hard to change it.

Never took a backwards step, and was very, very underrated in terms of importance to our side.

A champion, and a very humble bloke.

Congratulations Vossy on a great career. Truly one of the most courageous players I have seen. Very nice bloke too, off the field.

Thanks for the great service

Off the field seemed a great bloke as well

Have no doubt that around a football club would be classified

" A great Clubman"

VOSSY IS A GREAT BLOKE OFF THE FIELD

HOPE HE HANGS AROUND VIC & DOESNT GO BACK TO QLD - I WILL MISS THE BEER & THE CHATS..

I REALLY AM SHOCKED AND DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THIS - HE WAS NOT GIVEN MUCH OF A GO THIS YEAR, WHICH FOR ME WAS THE LOW-LIGHT OF THE SEASON..

all the best in the 'afterlife'

and shut up homework you are pissing off multiple people with your stupid childish posts and overtly poor spelling

Thanks Vossy, always gave 100%

Thought you were hard done by at times.

Thanks for the Rohan Smith tackle and the pass to TS40 that set up that memorable win.

Thanks for all your hard work, Brett.

Saw him play many blinders over the years, the one I most remember is that Prelim against Port in '04. Who knew a backman would be so dangerous up forward?

Will be very much missed.

Keep this on topic.

Dont let a child spoil the thread in honour of Brett Voss.

Voss was a hugely underrated backman for us, made Goose look a lot better than he otherwise would have.

A natural footballer with great skills, unfortunately wasn't blessed with pace or he would have been as good as (or better than) his brother.
