A "terse conversation" is not a "new low"

Saints' battle hits new low

MORE drama was expected to unfold at St Kilda's board meeting early today following an altercation in the Moorabbin car park last Thursday involving club directors and a staff member who briefly considered legal action.

Saints' director Glen Casey could face questions from fellow directors and lawyer Richard Loveridge regarding the incident, which involved a terse conversation with the staff member concerning the leaking of the club's membership database.

It is believed Casey told the staffer that the alleged actions could result in 12 months' prison, although Casey and his president, Rod Butterss, who also was present at the time, have downplayed the incident, claiming it was a light-hearted exchange.

Another witness to the conversation, which occurred following the Butterss team's press conference at the club, has put forward a signed witness statement to Loveridge, who was appointed by club chief executive Archie Fraser in a bid to adhere to the correct processes regarding the coming extraordinary general meeting.

The drama is just one of several byplays likely to unfold at Moorabbin today, with club vice-president Ross Levin also expected to come under scrutiny regarding his role in the Greg Westaway challenge to the Butterss team entitled St Kilda Footy First.

While Levin's fellow director John Gdanski has quit the board to join the rebel group, Levin has remained on the board but is believed to support Butterss' rivals.

While Butterss said last week that Levin and Gdanski would have to live with their consciences, Levin is not expected to resign from the board.

The St Kilda staffer involved in the car park fracas is unwilling to take legal action against Casey, but Loveridge is expected to raise the issue to clarify the position of staff members as the club deals with its political battle.

This guy is unbelievable. Living with your conscience is objecting to going to war for your country when called up because you're a pacifist. Or allowing one of your comatose relatives stay on life support but later switch it off, in order to be able to donate organs.

Not this. God he's so melodramatic.

Also, is there no article these days that has Rod Butters name mentioned in it without the word "lawyer" following soon afterwards........
