Membership Package...where is it????

Post: # 456077Post saintsRrising »

It just struck me that for the last several seasons well PRIOR to the seasons end that I had been sent information about signing up for next season...and had by now done so.

So what has happened this year?????

Was thinking the same thing when the SFF stuff arrived.

Last year I'm sure my first regular monthly payment came out in mid October so not long left to get organised.

Quite right Bratty..I well remmeber being hassled for early-bird membership renewal when we were right in the mix for a GF spot and a trip to Adelaide was coming...and the Club would not hold off on the deadline for the earlybird benefits.

Just checked my bank statements and my first came out on Oct (edit - oops) 15 2006 for the first instalment of my nine month payment - I know that's still a month away but thought the packages were out earlier.

Edited - oops my bad - the 11th month is November apparently

perhaps Rod is too busy taking legal action to care about trivial things like Memberships/sponsorships/running the club etc etc.....

well what a disgrace eh???

November huh?

Well if Rod stood down by the end of this month, hopefully things can ramp up prior to January....sorry, I've not trust in RB's team anymore - whilst they say November, it will drag into December, as no doubt nothing is being done at the moment due to no sponsors and no staff, and then Xmas will loom, it will get into the too hard basket and before you know it it will be January mailouts....

Other than getting some monies into Club coffers, what does early mailout/renewal of memberships in Sep/Oct actually achieve?

Surely those of us who will renew early will do so when the package comes in Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan?

The bulk of renewals probably occur in the period between 'pre-season' and the first couple of rounds?

I actually don't mind the renewal package coming out later as it means I don't have to pay so early.

early bird package sent out Sept? obviously because price kept at the previous year

Normal package WAS sent out much later .......Nov or thereabouts

with updated pricing (subject to AFL increases etc)

If the early bird has been abolished don't see the big drama

NORMAL PACKAGE BEING SENT OUT AT SIMILAR STAGE.

People are generally a lot tighter with money after Christmas (Jan/Feb are the lowest months of consumer spending for the year) due to the amount they have spent at Christmas.

You are likely to have more people sign up in November and December as people are more inclined to spend money.

Someone staring at their credit card bill and St Kilda membership renewal in early January are likely to put off renewal.

It is much harder to increase membership from a poor start and it is critical to build a good base in January and February if you are to increase your membership.

In 2006, we had 16,000 signed up by mid-December.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

any changes in ticket / seat pricing which is directly based on the AFL numbers will not be out till around the time of the fixture etc?

in the last couple fo years with early renewel it has meant either refund of the need to add a bit as the number of games in Victoria has changed each time-

not quite correct.

You are thinking of 2006, when the AFL screwed us by at the last minute adding an extra 2 interstate fixtures giving us 7 rather than 5 interstate games.

Our club had very good and reliable information (I believe) from the AFL that we'd have only 5 interstate games, but after GT's rant at the umpires Dimwit punished us!

As for the 2007 draw, everything was sweet again and we got only 5 interstate games, and hence no dramas re 17 game Vic memberships....

That is not true about the interstate. We had 7 because we chose to go to Tasy. Do you think we should have had 3 interstate trips only.I think not.

The earlybird membership was a bit of a misnomer anyway. The basic membership price was the only part "frozen". All your extras, reserved seat, SC etc were at the next years price.
