What really stings

Post: # 448157Post skeptic »

It appeared that our core list peaked from about 2004-06
In those years Port, Bris, Adel, Wce and Syd to a lesser degree always looked a bit like the unstoppable jaggurnuat teams.
We all felt that once the finals started it would be extremely tough to beat any of these teams interstate...

This year, of the final 8 I only fear Port. We could mop the floor with any of the rest on our day... sure they might beat us to but we would have been dangerous. I guess IMO the standard of footy is a bit lower this year than it has been recently.

Our 2004 team would have won the premiership this year. No doubt about it. This is one year that really got away and I'm not blaming it on RL, but yeah that sucks

Who has really come on since 2004/05?

Gilbert yes. But in the same time our recruiting has been poor, too slow and not many new talents since that time frame. We don't need hacks from other clubs, rather we need to use the draft properly.

I can't believe that Howard was last year's 2nd pick for us. Couldn't beleive it when it happened. In hindsight even worse. Seems like JB wanted to pull smokies maybe for his ego.. Not sure. The recruiting hasn't been great for a while and must be addressed.

On paper, our list is easily top four.

But I fear that Aaron Hamill and Michael Gardiner will play only on Reflex A4, not Telstra Dome :(

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Let's face reality. Other teams eg Geelong have passed us in performance, recruiting and development.

Take a look at Selwood's perfformance tonight. A first year player who was BOG tonight in a team that is on fire. There is no way we are at their standard. To believe we are is delusional.

Speed Speed Speed (without drugs). That's the answer.

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

Nah....let's go for 2015. Gives me more time to be free of the burden of expectation!

I hope for us life long supporters sake RL doesn't believe this shite...

The list is flawed, this alleged best list hasn't done much yet,it needs to be tweaked, that is a non arguable fact...unfortunately......

We've still got a reasonably young list. Nice assessment MSG!

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

There is no way I'm waiting until 2010.
Maybe the players can feel what its like to miss finals and come back next season and give it a red hot crack.

The core of our list is still very good, but some of the fringe players really aren't good enough. Our players make horrendous errors all too often, and give away at least one goal a week through sheer stupidity.
