VFL Elim Final-Casey v P/Melb Sunday 2 Sept 2pm @ The Fields

Post: # 443445Post casey scorp »

The opponent to be determined by this afternoon's Geelong v Bendigo match.

If Geelong wins, we play Port Melbourne.

If Bendigo wins, we play Bendigo.

(Subject edited once result was known).

Don't believe what you might read in The Age today that all 4 VFL finals next weekend will be played at TEAC Oval (Port Melbourne) over 2 days.

The match has been scheduled to avoid a clash with the St Kilda v Richmond match at the G on Saturday afternoon, so a real opportunity for Saints supporters to come out in force to support our aligned team.

Cost:

Adult - $15.00
Concession - $10.00
Pensioner - $10.00
Children Under 15 years - Free

Wouldn't mind plaing Bendigo. Think we would beat them, last time they had the AFL players going for them.

My understanding is that to be eligible for VFL finals, players must have played at least seven VFL games and no more than 12 AFL games for the season, but isn't there some other associated rules regarding players who have had injuries?

There's all sorts of criteria for VFL finals eligibility - you need a PhD to follow it.

However, for next week, because all AFL aligned clubs are still competing, it is business as usual except that there is a 12/10 rule applying:

(refer to last weeks VFL Football Record)

The only stipulation is that aligned clubs can only select a maximum of 12 AFL-listed players and a minimum of 10 VFL players.

What should be noted during the first week is that the make-up of the 12 AFL listed players is entirely at the discretion of the respective clubs.

$15 for adults!!!

Any discount for Saints members?

We should only have to pay $10!!!

I assume this is an elimination final next week??

Looking at the VFL website, there don't appear to be discounts to the VFL finals for AFL or even VFL club members (same as AFL finals I suppose).

Yes, an elimination final (I've clarified the subject line - thanks).

I'm not really all that interested in Casey Scorpions, I went to a match a CF earlier in the year and froze my absolute bollocks off.

So will watch if its on TV, and will go to GF if they make it as PP is easier to get to, but thats about the it, I'm afraid.

Happy they are in the Finals, though.

anything over 50 is a saints player- or maybe it's 49- Brookes

although often Thommo gets No. 3

Ye . . . forgot to say - their given jumper numbers don't always match what they actually wear on a given day. 81 numbers - that's a lot of jumpers to organise
