Goals - Watts 3, Jones, Mcqualter,Gwilt,Allen

Best according to the commentators- Armitage and Jones were the standouts and Eddy played well.

I think that

allen for voss
armo for attard
thommo for ball

would be very positive for looking towards 2008 as well as perhaps fixing holes in the 2007 version.

I think Watts would have to be ahead of Allen, for senior selection. Doubt either would come in though

I think the only change will be Attard out for Thompson.

I doubt Bally would rather have a rest than play with Harvey, Gehrig, Thompson, Voss and M.Clarke in what could be their last game.

Thompson is going to have a farewell game as Lyon said ...

IN: Thompson, Harvey
OUT: Attard (inj), Voss

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Bloody hell...forgot about Harvs and Max.

OUT: Attard, Ferguson, Blake
IN: Thompson, Hudghton, Harvey

Think Vossy might get his farewell game, too.

Ferguson would be a bit stiff getting dropped after one game, and that against probable Grand Finalists West Coast. Give him another run to see what he can do against a lesser team.
I would drop Birss, and Matt Clarke. Attard will obviously not be available. If Adelaide beat Brisbane this round, as they are playing Collingwood Friday night we will know before our game whether we have a show or not. If Adelaide beat Collingwood, then they finish eight. We may as well tank against Richmond.
With that in mind, I would name Harvs, & Thommo in the team, with Armo, Brooks, and maybe Allen as emergencys.
If we cant make the eight, play the three emergencies and rest Ball, and two others.

And M. Clarke?
Given Richmond don't have any recognized ruckmen (like Freo atm) I would be inclined to drop M.Clarke, but it would likely be his last game so there may be a 'push' to keep him in the side (especially if we are already out of finals contention).

Gee, I have always respected your thoughts on players, but I can't believe you are suggesting that Fergs should get dropped???

Where you at the match???

Also, Blake will play IMO and M Clarke will get dropped for Rix IMO.

M Clarke really only plays at the dome and I don't feel he will get a game at the G...

For me ...

OUT: Attard, M. Clarke and either X or Ball (out injured)

IN: Rix, Harvey, Thompson.

If Harvey, Thompson and Hudghton are all fit (which I doubt)

The one to miss is Thompson IMO

At the moment the only changes will be Harvey in and Attard out. Why would Rix play. Did he get in the best the last 2 weeks at Scorps. No. And how could Allen play not even sure he will be in the finals side with the 12-10 rule.

getting in the best means nothing according to you plugger66 otherwise why argue it re: brooks.

Anyway we are struggling to find a second leading half forward and thus the opposition double tag roo. Allen has got a couple of games under his belt and I don't think we will lose anything swapping voss for him.

Agree Voss is finished but would be totally unfair on Allen and the other players if he got a game. Not sure who should play for Voss but you are right he should be omitted. Sorry I missed him.

no problems, played really well in the preseason but injury has struck him down. Is exactly the type of player we need and now that the finals are out of our hands (bringing 1-2 youngsters against rich should not mean we lose), we should look at getting a game into allen. Might be a good wild card if we do make finals or a spur for him over pre-season. Give him a taste of it.

Surely Thommo would come in for one last game??

He deserves a farewell, and I would be mightily pissed off if Lyon didn't play him.

Was BOG for the Scorps ...

Ferg played a pretty good game against LeCras, but with Max back next week and Richmond's crap forward line we just wouldn't need Ferg. Like Gwilt eariler in the season he will be dropped for team balance rather than form.

Maguire v Richardson
Hudghton v Brown
S.Fisher v Schulz
L.Fisher v Pettifer
Gram v Krakouer

If Richmond go very tall in the forward line and include two of Schulz Riewoldt and Hughes then Ferg might get another game.

I think Clarke and Thompson will both get a farewell game.

Honestly, should it really matter that much re team selections??

IMO if we can't get over Richmond (margin not relevant - one goal win is acceptable), even with some dodgy selections/some injured players that don't come up, it would be an embarassment to the jumper.

I guess also if Adelaide win on Friday night who really cares???

Doubt Max will be back next week so Ferg should play. Thommo might be a slight chance but only if harvs isnt right which I doubt. Clarke will probably play but he doesnt deserve a farewelll game off the Saints.

Emergencies may be interesting..

IF the Crows win...as we play on Friday...a flu may strike so thata few playes can be tried out....or farewelled....

Hopefully the Pies will win though.

Why would M. Clarke get a farewell game?

What great service has he given to St Kilda?
