I'd still have Sweeney in that lineup, from a "trying to win a VFL game" perspective. However it may be the first sign that he'll be shown the door come delisting time.

No Sweeney.

No Howard.

IMO the Saints season is over. Lyons said that he did not want to just sneak into the finals. Interesting who might then get a run from the Scorps against Richmond next week. If we lose against Richmond we get drop to 11th and get a #7 draft pick rather than #9.

We will have to rebuild next season.

Thompson - Gone
Sweeney - Gone
Big questions over Voss, Gehrig, Gardiner, McQualter, Brooks, Hamill.

Our list was never as good as people made it out to be.

I'll be going down to Casey fields to check out some of our up and comers, gotta get all the footy fix i can before the end of the season, where we hang on every little training report and pre-season tidbit!

Agree with you there on those players sasaint.

Voss and Gehrig should stay, 100% no doubt in my mind.

Sweeney is exactly the sort of player we need in the side, someone else who can take a mark on a lead in the fwd 50. We honestly have no-one other than Gehrig and to a lesser extent, Voss.

Re Sweeney, I think his card is marked by the club. Maybe attitude. A dissapointment given he seemed to contribute at the Scorps, but the point I am noting is that even the Scorps now are not selecting him in their senior list.

those going down, can we get a really good report on how the following players go

1. Allen - I would love to see him debut next week on the HF line. Good mark, clever at timing the lead, good shot for goal.

2. Armo - Would also like to see him get a game next week along with thommo. Attard and ball out

3. The rookies - will be interesting to see who is kept and who will be bought up. Geary has had a fantastic second half of the season and eddy looks the goods. We saw last night that even the eagles are slowly blooding rookie players for their midfield.

We need to play next week with one eye to our 2008 list.

Ferguson....how would sweeny go playing full back/pockett??

We have never played ferguson in the position that stood him out in the draft....unfortunately because he is more than capable he finds himself being thrown to the wolves.

He has mended his ways and is being punished far too greatly for his past mistakes.

i really hope we offer him 1 more year, its not like he costs us a lot and if we replace him with another draft pickin round 3 or 4 it will take more time to develop them and we know sweeney has the ability

I used to see him out a lot, now he is focussing on his career, or trying to sustain a spot on the list.
