The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.

I'm suprised the AFL hasn't shut down the email servers and fax machines so we can't get the paperwork in before the deadline.

The Saints have always appealed to me. I don't think the Dimwit and his monkey are fans though.

Pleased to hear. Now, get to work highly paid QC and dismantle that most unjust decision of last night.

IT'S ON!!!

What we’ve all been waiting for all morning! I hope the Saints manage to shove this farcical penalty fair up the darkest chasm of the AFL’s rear-end – WHERE IT BELONGS!!!

Thank god for that!

I think bakes has a pretty good chance of getting of now, I dont think that they would appeal just for the hell of it, they must be pretty confident and have a good case for appeal.

Is the appeal tonight?

no

he was never offered a discount for early plea.

he went STRAIGHT to the tribunal.

so no extra weeks.

normal you get 2 avenues.

found to have committed a crime accept with 25% reduction or to teh tribunal, go to the tribunal you blow your 25% early guilty plea, or hte 'hicks' as we call it.

after tribunal you get to appeal.

There's more risk in not appealing.

I don't expect this corrupt organisation to admit to their 'mistake' . . . so I expect us to be in the courts tomorrow.

I would hope thats what happens if the appeal fails.

We need to show some balls on this one.

I have a feeling the club will try and prove the trainer was lying.

If we can do that, I expect not only to have the sentenced overturned on appeal but to sue the lying sack of s***.

we wont go to court.

we may win the fight but we will lose the war.

remember when GT stood up against the umpires?

we will get violated and punished for standing up to the AFL and that is the truth.

justice PFFFT.

you'll find a fair few folks at st kilda and other clubs, dont even like AFL any more, they are only in it for their club.

To paraphrase:

Hell hath no fury like an AFL scorned.

That said, this move by the club is absolutely essential and I dare say is probably being quietly applauded by the other clubs as well. (Freo aside). Somebody has to finally stand up to the naked corruption that is the AFL.

I want this going to court if nothing gets resolved tonight! It's not a case of we can't survive without Baker playing, it's the principal of the matter and how seriously wrong it is! We really need to exhaust every avenue to make sure we're not shafted again by this bunch!

i can see this being the biggest thing in the afl tribunal ever......
i hope the club doesnt just lay down, reach back and spread em.

and if i was the coach i would be letting rip, screw the fines.......its not like u couldnt afford a fine handed out by the afl with the salary coaches get nowdays.

This better not just be for show. I expect us to throw everything we have at this case, anything less would be a cop out to us fans.

i'm glad we're appealing. all we need is a witness who saw something different to what the freo bloke saw.

no. someone with an official position at the club. then it becomes our word against theirs.
