Baker's case is underway - discussion

Post: # 438414Post saintm »

Channel 10 crossed to Rob Waters outside the tribunal in their sports preview.

Should be an on-air update very shortly.

it's stupid, farmer says he can't remember what actually happened but just said that he was playing on baker but could not be certain WHO did WHAT.

We have to play hard ball with this.

They leant that way on the news, but in a way his 'evidence' backs up what Baker has said.

Farmer says he didn't see anyone in his path.

If he did infact see someone in his path, it's unlikely he would have slammed into him.

So really, although it sounds bad for Bakes - unless Lionel Hutz is still our advocate, that should really go in our favour.

The name of the Freo dobber trainer is Barry Kirkwood .... a school teacher apparantly based in Melbourne ... he supposedly saw the whole incident ...

Oh, it'll be more than that if he's found guilty. :(

I will accept a verdict either way as long as there is a sufficient evidence used in the summary report and no crap.

But i have the feeling it could go the wrong way for us again, time will tell

if he is found guilty, its the final straw for me.
from 2008 i get my saints membership only, i cease my AFL membership, i refuse to pay to go to away games, i will just listen on radio or watch on t.v.

i have had enough. there are so many double standards in this corrupt competition, see Ben Johnson vs J.Rowe, don't give me the yeah the filth get a run bullshyte because there wasn't much difference in those incidents.

if bakes goes without any video or unbiased evidence i will only support my club and will contribute nothing else to this joke of a sport.

obviously baker has done something wrong!
if i was him i would admitt it and maybe the afl wont be so harsh!
if i was the boss guy and baker said to me "yeah i slapped his face, and he was shocked and fell over and broke his nose" i would give him 3 weeks! but if we spent hours calling up farmer, vossy, freo trainer etc and then found out he was guilty i would give him 4 or 5 weeks!

If you don't think there was much difference then you;re a moron. One was going for the ball and the other wasn't. Johnson would have only got 4 if he hadn't had carry over points from last week.

Farmer says he didn't see anyone and doesn't know who did what. Surely, that fits the explanation given so far. If Farmer had seen Baker in his path he wouldn't have run into him!

well.....its baker we are talking about! baker could probably be on 200 games except he has been suspended for like, 1/2 of his carrier!

Well they wouldn't take it to the tribunal if any of the afl's "reliable" witnesses had said there was nothing in it.

Trainer apparently says he didn't see the incident clearly. And presumes the contact was from (sorry- BETWEEN) Bakers hip and shoulder! :?
This is crap! They've got nothing!

The thing is he already has 1.5 games over head that would be added to anything he gets from this. So I think if he gets done it will be for four week then plus anther.

Freo trainer has said Baker supposedly laid a hip-and-shoulder on him but has also admitted his view of the incident was obscured.

Case has to be thrown out. What a crock.

Spot on. That is unreliable rubbish that wouldn't stand up in anything other than a kangaroo court or school yard - throw it out now and let's get on with demolishing the Eagles!
