Fraser and Vossy.....

Post: # 436267Post BakesFan »

can still play great footy!!
Some of the comments on this forum in recent times; regarding these two blokes; have been nothing short of disgraceful.

Today Fraser showed just what an awesome performer he is when he receives something that resembles decent delivery into the forward line.

Brett Voss showed that he is still, in all probability, St. Kilda's MOST courageous player.

Neither took a backaward step today; and I'm sure that their examples would have inspired quite a few of the boys around them.
Should we makes the finals; and I believe we will; it's experienced heads like these two, who will shape our fortunes.

Lenny is just about back to his awesome best! :D
X and Raph were terrific and showed glimpses of why the club has shown patience with them. (These two blokes will be Guns!)

It was a fantastic effort by the team as a whole; and wonderful to see the Saints playing the type of Footy they're capable of...If all goes well the Saints may just peak as the Finals arrive.

GO SAINTERS!!!!!

He's a good mark and a reasonably reliable shot for goal.
I think the area he is lacking his his fitness, I think he struggles a tad to get back defensively, and his speed isn't great. But I think he is in our best team.

voss was awesome, hard hitting, shepherding, tackling, spoiling, defencive pressure.

there was one point where he just beat 3 freo players to get the ball to the boundary.

basically he played as a goal kicking defender in the forward line.

smart skilled players > fast stupid players.

two saints going for the ball, V was faster, but he stopped and shephered the other guy...

I mean really, ball, lenny are two others that do 'team' things.

birss i think it was subsequently muffed it, but v2 did the right thing and the team thing.

we really have missed his quality.

also he got a fair run on the ground today instead of running off the bench for a 20 minute game in the seniors, and his quality really showed.

Totally agree Dan.

Vossy ALWAYS gives 100%.
And some of his inspirational one percenters set the tone for the more skilled players.

He will never be a key forward.
But there is always room for a 3rd or 4th decoy forward with a fanatical defensive side who can kick a goal.

No spot for him in the backline anymore with Fish and Gilbo, but if he can kick 2-3 goals each week as a 3rd forward, it will be really valuable for us come finals.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

vossy was the perfect foil for fraser and riewoldt, filling the role that hamill used to fill admirably.

makes such a difference to have someone up there besides fraser and roo who can take a contested mark.

his papers appeared to have been marked by the coach, but today's effort might just have turned it around. we can only hope

There's a spot for Voss inside the F50 and a strong hands marking option unless RL decides to play 17 men behind the ball. If we attack sides playing expansive free flowing footy then Fraze, Voss, Milne could do a lot of damage.

Last time Voss was in......he muffed the ball and dropped his marks..

Was deservedly dropped....sent back to Casey to find touch.

This game he was clean and used most of his opportunities.

Lack of pace cost one goal though...ie team mate saw he was at the back and signalled he would kick long...which he did....only to see the freo backmen cruise past him.
