Hated to see all of the go, and we basically got nothing in return. Dal Santo still hasn't proved anywhere near as valuable as any of these three, and that's nothing against him, just fact. Why trade a half-decent player who's supposedly a prick (but still remains friends with many at the club) for basically nothing. I'd prefer to play alongside a prick who can play than a good, decent bloke who can't.

Agree. People have a go at Spider but if he was such a fool why do players still love seeing him. Amazing how we love players and as soon as they leave they are idiots and the other way around when we recruit fools they are suddenly gods. If Spider was still at the club in 2004 we win the flag. That simple.

The Draft picks included... (So I'm told)

Joel Smith
Steven Sziller
Austinn Jones

Not too bad in the end if they were the players.

Just looked it up. We only got one draft pick for plugger which was pick 5 and we took Joel Smith. We actually only got Robert Neil as a player but also the Hawks were involved and we got Glen Nugent and Joshua Kithcen from them in return for pick 13 and we took Chris Hemley. We had to give them pick 59.

I thought (and still think) that it was a travesty to let the best player in the competition go, for basically nothing.

Spider and Hall - definitely a good thing they're gone. Spider is a complete knob, and while i dont have anything against Hall apart from winning a premiership on the back of beating us (and Goose's solar plexus) - its been a good move for both club and player. From what i remember also, hes never come out and 'shamed' the club like Spider has on numerous occasions.
and he never will and Hall didn't leave for money and neither did plugger it was to get away from the scrutiny and in Hall's case some old friends/way of life as well. Well not entirely for money anyway.

All three of them can go and get you know whated! You couldn't even mention them in the same breathe as Barker and Harvey. Chase money go to a better culture the three of them were the biggest offenders when it came to missbehaving? If they had some tiny little bit of Professionalism as leaders of the club I am sure we would have had a lot more success.

Wake me up when September ends.

smith and chris hemley were our two draft picks for plugger...aussie and sziller were picked with our original picks.....we basically got sfa for plugger...smith walked after three seasons......

i am sick of posting that aussie was not part of the compensation for plugger.........

same stinger, anoying as hell a lot of commentators used to say this as well. espeacially refering to when a big player looks like he is leaving a club "could be a win win like locket where the saints got smith and jones" I heard that a lot.

St Kilda gained Robert Neill. Hawthorn sent Joshua Kitchen and Glen Nugent plus exchanges in draft picks.
