Dream Team

Post: # 434483Post Unforgiven »

Hows people's Dream Team travelling? Mine is shaping up very good, I came 5th at the end of the DT home and away season I think. I won my elimination final, so live for another day.

I got 6 trades left, and money in the bank. Im waiting on the selection of Chapman and Brad Johson to dictate my trade on another player. I think im 15,000 odd overally, im happy enough with my first DT team.

i wasted trades early on players i thought were going to come good or were injured i.e. judd, gardiner, brown etc etc

so when it came down to it i ended up creating the team i wanted but with 0 trades left so i have been on the same team for around about a month now...

i finished 9th and considering the teams ahead of me i should have done alot better earlier on

oh well i guess i can have fun dominating the losers finals...yey....

Ive had Joey as my captian all year! Have hardly made any changes - I think ive made four trades - I started with a win, then lost ALL form but then won a coupe of late games.. I finished ninth in my league so im in the losers finals but im still going so thats okay!!

I havent actually paid that much attention to my dream team this year - Focussed on tips.. Winning that one!!

i have had a fair season...

iv been ranked as low as 221st but due to injuries and poor form im now looking at about 2100th.

Last four weeks iv returned to form, getting over 2000.

Didnt lose a game in my league all year but was defeated in the first final by 9 points. If I had played any other team last weekend I wouldve won but...

And thanks to my gutsy (or lucky) 21 point victory over Nicko's Saints, you have the thrill of facing him in your Semi!

I'm around 4000th overall right now with no trades and a bare minimum of players available. Only Pattison played out of my reserves and I had a zero in my forward line.

I'm travelling much better in SuperCoach. I'm around 250 (in the top-10 Saints supporters) in that one with most of my reserves getting a game (and Boak had a monster game last weekend). It's amazing how different the two games really are.

I'm coming about 15th or 16th in St Kilda supporters and about 400th overall.

Got as high as 121 overall but lost a few players and decided to save my trades for finals.

I'm in a league with mates and we sledge the hell out of each other. Won my first final by about 280 points. Have four trades left.

BOT was just in front of me last time we looked

Lost the first five games of the season but finished of strongly losing only 1 out of the next 10.

Finished 7th and won my final.

I was trade happy at the start of the season and made some stupid trades including Priddis and Sinclair out in the first week

If I win this week I think I might be playing Vacuous Space so look out :)

Ranked 712 overall
Somehow only finished second in my league despite the next best overall ranking being in the 10,000's
Won my qual final playing 20 players (waters and johnson out), both should be back in for my pre lim and have 2 trades and 250k left in the bank, so should have a very very solid side for the last 2 rds of the year.

Hopefully a top 500 finish, but i set a target of top 1000 finish at the start of the year so mission almost accomplished!

Hopefully win my saintsaitional league

i have kept an eye on the 40 year drought side...looking good

then i suddenly recieved a cursed trade...cant remember the exact sequence but someone got injured in my midfield, i traded him for Daniel Cross, he gets injured first game with me, i traded for someone else (names escapes me) he gets injured after a few games, i trade for scott west who gets injured first game with me who i then traded for chris knights who has stuck with me since

then judd was out for a few an other injuries have seriously effected my scores

but i won my first final by 200 odd points and was the top scorer in our game
i ran out of trades and i have 60k left over oh what i would give for one more trade !!!

I think I cared about my Dream Team for the first 4 rounds, then forgot about it, and came back to it after the mid season break. Got a perfect amount of trades to last me to the end, and come cash cows and its looking nice.

I am the king of dream team choking, every year as soon as finals time comes around I fall apart, in one league that I am in with ppl from saintsational I got 2000+ for the 5 weeks going into the finals and then I fell apart and got 1800, in my other league I was averaging 1953 going into the finals and scored 1680, it's unbelievable I cam 2nd and 3rd and I lost both games and am expecting to lose both this week too:(

Looking at ur team i think that LeCras has to go, other than that ur reasonably competitive, plus u get Hudson back this week

I'm 544th overall. Coming home with a wet sail though. Had a poor start/early-middle of the year, then I kicked into gear, won the sherrin in round 16 with 2,473 as the leading St Kilda supporter (9th highest score of that week overall...and it was a trifecta, I was first, and 2 of my mates in my league were 2nd and 3rd), and I finished 5th in my league (which is I think the 4th highest-scoring league overall), and am still in the finals. Also the 21st ranked Saints supporter overall now.

But now I have the story to end all stories.

My mate is Lenny Hayes = GOD, who as you may have noticed, was 2nd overall last week. His team was looking like it could/would go all the way. He had one trade left before the round just passed...and Embley got injured, so he was going to trade him this week....BUT...when he got up Monday morning....someone had traded Bartel for Armitage (i.e. a HACKER), he is now absolutely gutted and out looking for justice, as you would when there was $50k on the line... :?

Hey Armoooo.
Apologies but the "GoodRiddanceSpider" team that knocked off your "Cadellas" was actually my team !!!

I have saved 8 picks for the last 4 weeks.
My strategy is to "Top-up" the team.
By that I mean replace 2 players in the same positions with one high-power player and a $69,400 hack who wont get a game.
Risk is that you might get exposed if you get some injuries.
But short term benefit is that it improves your firepower by about 40 points.

eg last week I got Steve Johnson into my forward line.
This week, although having a bye thanks to Armoooo, I plan to dump Jolly and Brogan to pick up Cox and a hack.

Following week I'll try to get Carrazzo or Chad Cornes into my defence.
And if I am lucky enough to win through into the GF I'll top up the midfield.

I am hoping this strategy will boost my scoring by about 150.

As always the critical thing is form and injuries and choice of Captain.
After recent good scores I went with Riewoldt as captain and he only scored 68. So I think it is back to Nigel Lappin or Kane Cornes for the Prelim.
