Some of the comments on here are nothing but a storm in a tea cup. We got a cheap fringe player that will fill a gap a few times when required. He is not going be a superstar but he is not expected to be. Will do a few great things for us but also screw up as well so all in all a very vanilla trade

In 2023, that award would've been 6 years earlier. 6 yrs is a long time in anyone's books

He’s back up and he didn’t cost us a thing, hopefully he proves to be a good acquisition.

Was he though? Contract in front of Cordy .
Three year contract offered to 32 year old Liam Jones.

Do you think that would have influenced Zaine’s decision to leave?

You'd think so but I think they play different roles.

They are both key defenders
ones a lock down player ones a drifter/intercept player (ala may, lever), maybe cordy to be the lock down howard to be the drifter?

We tried Logan Austin in defence...
Then,
Jarrod Lienert.
Fringe players, not best 22 at their clubs.
We're doing it again

There are only 18 players on the ground at the one time ... you want them to be the highest quality possible.

Fringe players don't improve a team.
They are just a drain on the salary cap.

We should be keeping the powder dry for the best available .... for quality players that will improve us.

So much for the review.

Those players you just mentioned are in the Cats line up for their speed. Is Cordy a fast runner?

I was wondering what he brings that a Lienert does not.

Then I figured that St KIlda didn't pick him as a pure backman. They picked him as a potential forward who can go e back, if Highmore, Sharamn, Coffield, Lienert, Battle etc. go down.

Our forward six is a bit like a Pakistani cricket team - weak as a complete unit, despite the star (potential) quality of the players as individuals.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Maybe because the guy instructing them was incompetent.

Lade's time with the Pakistan first 11 was admittedly a low point for all concerned

Fun fact:

Saints bid their first round (pick 13) on brother Ayce in the 2008 National Draft who went to the Bulldogs at pick 14. Ayce played 27 AFL games from 2009-2015.

Hmmm.

Averages 10 disposals a game.

He’s kicked 18 goals in his 8 year career.
