You do realize that media rights deals and revenue basically dictate what the players will get paid? You can’t be making hundreds of millions of dollars and then pay the reason people watch the game a fraction of a percent of what the competition is taking in each year.

The players just recently secured the AFL a $4.5 Billion deal, that's with a B. Why shouldn't the guys (and girls now) that put their bodies on the line get a good share of that? 300K is not 'amazing' if your working life is at best 10 years long.
