When you say ‘long transfer’ you really mean the Long transfer….don’t you?

Also, you need a comma after the word transfer for your sentence to make sense.

In response to the question though, I'd say we are in a good position to do the deal.
But also think we should check out Bowes carefully and not just be seduced by an easy way to snag pick7. You would want to make sure he is committed to getting the best out of himself and can actually be a top 22 player.

If we got Bowes and Pick 7 for Long and a later pick

We’ll have made out like bandits

Whisper is he knocked back bombers wants Geelong
If Cats can afford his full salary reportedly 1.2m over 2 years with their current list Id like AFL to do a salary cap investigation cause that’s BS

That’s big coin to be playing VFL for Geelong.

Bowes is a pretty decent player, but can’t see him getting a game at Geelong.

Cameron Ling owns most of the Geelong foreshore. Not bad for a player on 300k a year apparently.

Please elaborate Curly.
What specific land holdings do you refer?

I think you may find that Ling and his post football business venture (financed by who?) ran into a dispute which threatened its viability

The Carlton lesson with Pratt and Judd, hey?

When you are a guest of the behind glass demographic at Geelong when St Kilda play there you understand

Brownless and Stoneham have the microphone

Isn't Gill from the landed farmer aristocracy from that part of Australia, just over the SA border from the Royal Principality of Greater Geelong?

You know ....an au pair here, a Fox deal there. His life post AFL will be interesting not just because of its opulence and how his legacy unravels.

So Bowes wants to go to Geelong. History shows they always get the player who nominates them.

I thnk we can put away any thoughts about getting him and pick 7.

He's a talent, and his bizarre back ended contact will have the Geelong hierarchy scratching their heads on how they manage it, but the lure of pick 7 means their bidl to get Tanner Bruhn will be easier.

Is that for sure? Some inside info?
Disappointing if true. Success is very attractive.

If geelong get bruhn, bowes and pick 7 this whole free agency is a massive piss take.

Supposedly we pulled out. No idea why, you’d think if the pick 7 was there with the only string being salary we’d be all over it.
Maybe we will be too full with Hill and JDG on the books? Who knows

What did Roo have to say about it?
I suppose if we pulled the pin it was looking unlikely anyway.
Or maybe we think we will get De Goey.

Mitch Cleary has reported tonight that it’s pretty much Geelong now as Dangerfield has a strong relationship with him.

It’s come out today on SEN that the remaining years on Bowes contract are $900K pa. Yikes!!!!

On the couch John Ralph just said StKilda will not be part of the SC dump and pick for Bowes

Rooey not happy
Rooey asked Ralph why not
Ralph said because 2 years at $550 +
Rooey response, Oh Please with the money they have been paying some players, not contending and need picks to get in the draft

**** joke! Absolute joke
This competition only sees the rich get richer it’s **** rigged
Can’t believe those handbagging wankers win the flag AND get pick 7

Really !! Who is surprised ? Not me the system favours successful clubs & has done since free agency started & it will only get worse . Good players at struggling clubs wanting success before retirement will want a shot at glory & who could blame them
