Bye bye Ratten!

Post: # 1962990Post Impatient Sainter »

I just looked at the score and Im not surprised. I think in the space of a month Ratten and Co have coached themselves out of a job?

At last. Absolutely out of his depth.

But wait saints are going to give him a 3yr contract. Another hannabery decision.

I tend to agree. Unless something magical happens for the rest of the year, in no way should he be offered a new contract.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

Such a StKilda mind set. Blame the coach. Don’t blame the players missing easy targets and taking baby steps.

The buck stops with the coach.

Tell me what Ratts has done to warrant an extension?

You could argue team selection was poor but then poor is what they have.

Anyway sacking the coach serves several purposes.

A fantastic human.

Just not the right head coach for St Kilda.

We have to ask the question of Clarkson. I’d be OK with Buckley, too - think he’ll be vastly improved after a spell away.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Agree with all, except for Buckley. Yet to be convinced about him.

Clarko or nothing for mine.

Plenty of Rattens out there.

Not many Clarkos.

I guarantee that the managers are playing table tennis right now...and the rallies are speeding up..as the pressure mounts.
St Kilda Fan Brain - 'oh, let's wait to see what the seaosn unflolds'
St Kilda decision maker: 'oh, i wanna do better this year. Last year sucked. What can I do? What can I write in my yearly performance 'self-assessemnt sheet'..yeah..I know, ..'I helped secure the signig of the coach, Brett Ratten for a further two years"..Moreover, 'I carried out three surveys of staff satisfaction with club facilities pertaining to dim sim machine'.

Who gives a s*** about St Kilda?
My metrics are on course!!!

There are losses and then there are losses.
Something seriously wrong and no way our talent is as bad as what we have seen. I wouldn't push the sack button, but I would pause contract talks

the problem is that Clarkson is not the answer !

Clarkson is a great
but we need to find the next Clarkson
there are not many coaches with 4 + flags
but most of those greats didn't snag too many after there 15th year of being a coach

Fascinated about the dim sim machine. That is a yes from me. Brett however should probably avoid it. Perhaps set it up near Clark's locker.

Not "Simon Templar". He was here first. Please change my username to Bumstead and if possible make me one of those very large sandwiches, thanks!

Clarko would just be our next coach waiting to be sacked.

The buck stops with the recruiters .... missing out on midfield talent at the draft ...Petracca, Touk Miller, Bontompelli, Bailey Smith, etc..
Even Bolton from Richmond.

AR would still be our coach and we would have won 3 flags with that talent by now.

We need dynamic midfielders/playmakers first and foremost. More than ever now.
We keep drafting everything but this.

A big hello to the Hannebery recruiter, while I am at it!

Agree we’ve missed recruiting talent but that does t explain zero transition game plan from defence or constant bombing on Kings head?????
We have no game plan except the 2020 small forwards one and that’s been worked out?????
He ain’t the coach for us - nice guy but not a head coach

Trouble is I don't see how to attract good players to our club, we've tried to land everyone but they end up elsewhere, Calt. & Ess. for starters,
Would Voss, McRae, Mitchell do any better with our list & resources?
Can someone approach Clarko so he can publicly say no and we can move on. I don't believe he would be interested.

There is something seriously wrong down there? My take is I think clubs have worked us out and Ratten & co havent been able to work through it. The result is back to Richo days of chipping sideways, backwards and when we do go forward its a bomb it long on Kings head, whilst he is triple teamed. The entire team have looked out of form, frustrated, disinterested and are getting the consummate results.

How does a group go from a top 4 chance 5-6 weeks ago to not now showing up?

People might say that Melbourne lost 3 in a row, but they are in a completely different situation to us.

A number of posters on BF are suggesting Ratten has already had his contract extension signed - the club are just waiting for a couple of wins to announce it. The way things are looking they might be waiting for a while?

On a more positive note they are also saying a number of OOC players have also signed contract extensions.

If Clarko came to StK (never gonna happen!)

But if he did

Does that guarantee success?!

What happens if he is no better than he was at Hawthorn in his last few years

What do we do then? Close the doors on the joint?

Or blame him for being a poor coach?
