Best guess....time served + community service + rehab + counselling + court costs + criminal conviction and no further custodial sentence.

Have to be pretty sinister to get custodial for a kilo bag of meth. Unless he's got history.

Seems like this would be in the ball park.

Hopefully Sam learns his lesson from this and when he's finished paying his dues he turns his mind to a simpler life. Everyone stuffs up in life in some way and to varying degrees but it's how you respond when you hit rock bottom that matters. Here is hoping he get's it together, he's proven before he can apply himself to achieve great things so all he needs to do to turn it around is apply that same process.

Depend on how involved he is in the actual syndicate or organisation and how high up he may have been. 1kg is a hell of a lot of meth.

Maybe worried that a few big hitters could be gunning for him?
Maybe does not have the resources of people close enough to him to past the required amount.

Perhaps the Saintsational crowd could pass the hat?
More likely he doesn’t want to get bail and have ppl in his crew think he ratted to get out. For that type of crime, he’d need to show exceptional circumstances. Very hard to do off the cuff.

If he represented himself it’s considered a free hit and not considered to have had an application if he loses. Sounds like he knows he’s f***ed

If he’s up for trafficking, and is convicted, regardless of whether he’s a user, the judge is not going to look to kindly on him. Nor should the judge IMO.

Party boy. From the hun.

Fisher had gone to Bali a few times with Dusty Martin and Jake King, or maybe another Saint. Definitely Martin though

It's a commercial quantity he has been located with. That is not a community service type sentence that is custodial every day of the week. If he does under 2yrs he has done well.

The brains trust.

I remember Roo saying in one of those player interviews about who is the funniest, player in the team, who is the smartest etc...he said something like Sam Fisher just doesn't seem to know anything about anything (apart from golf and footy)

This is true. I also doubt that the coppers stumbled upon this by accident AND that Fisher wasn't unlucky enough to be caught the only time he was involved in this.

I guess there is a strict bro code among footballers who play over that side of the street.

No, officer, I was on my own. I don’t know any other players who do this. I found my own way into this world. I just happened to be on the same plane to Bali with x.

And how about, y…and z?

Yes, just happened to be with y and z…

Wasn’t it Armo one year, before Armo saw the light & distanced himself from keeping such company?

I spent a few minutes over on Big Footy looking at the Sam Fisher thread.
Those characters really get stuck into each other, particularly P66, who tells everyone he's best mates with several ex-Saints players, here's one quote 'I trust a guy I've known for 22 years' 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️
He never mentions names though.

I'm grateful we have mods here who won't let it slide into anarchy with entire threads being hijacked.

Big footy is garbage, and a refuge for cretins who got booted from here, including P66 who was one of the worst.

They were talking about Sam Fisher on On The Couch and Jon Ralph said Fisher is facing anywhere up to 25 years jail time.
No wonder one of the other hosts said Fisher's life is ruined.

No one will know until his case goes through the process.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Throw the book at him. How many vulnerable lives and associated family lives has he ruined.

No sympathy whatsoever.

The average length of sentence given between 2018-19 for Fishers offence is 4 years and 2 months.
The max is 25 years and $545k.

He is about a 94% chance of being sentenced.

No sympathy whatsoever.
Your view has been historically popular especially since the Yanks invented the war on drugs which was a war dutifully adopted by governments of the American allies through political and economical coercion.

What we do know now from unavoidable evidence about the war on drugs -- and like nearly all wars started by the Yanks -- it is a war that was lost decades ago and only exists these days symbolicly for political leverage.

Throwing the book at individuals like Sam doesn't protect anyone susceptible to addiction. As inconvenient as this fact is, it remains the fact.
