Final 8 Predictions - Will the imposters stay?

Post: # 1955070Post shanegrambeau »

Fremantle
Carlton

Are the imposters.

St Kilda, naturally deserves its place, no questions needed.

But sitting just outside the 8 are Port Adelaide, who after a terrible start are now four wins on the trot, and the Bulldogs.

So do you think Carlton and Freo will collapse in a heap after the bye and allow Port and WB to come up?

The Suns are perhaps even more interesting than the Dogs and Port.

They’ve had good wins over both Freo and the Blues, plus the Swans for good measure.

I think Geelong are also at risk of missing the 8. Us too, but our win on Saturday helped a lot.

The Geelong win makes up for the Port loss, as far as most had us at 7-3 at this stage, which at the start of the year, you'd have taken in a heartbeat. We've had a great start to the year and we need to finish strong with last 2 games before the bye. Adelaide I'll be happy with the win over there but North should be a percentage booster. I think Carlton ,baring injuries, can sustain their season. Freo I'm not so sure. Fyfe needs to become the dominant player he once was, for them to have a chance.

And ..

Port have Geelong his week!
The Bulldogs have got to beat Gold Coast
And Carlton play Sydney !

I’m thinking Geelong will get them…and slow em down a bit..
Bullies absolutely need to get Gold Coast and hammer them.

How can you pick between Carlton and Sydney…? Ya think Sydney might get em.

Carlton have a pretty imposing midfield IMO
Cripps, Walsh, Kennedy, Hewitt, Doherty, Cerra, Saad etc

Mckay is a big loss for them and they just lost Williams too so there are some set backs there... but they’re looking fairly imposing IMO

Seeming we usually lose to them late season when they are s***, now that they are decent, we should thrash them.

There's only one team I care about making the finals.

I think 13 wins guarantees you finals, and I would say we've got at least 6 very winnable games to go, plus a few 50/50s, so I'm confident we'll make it from here unless we completely fall apart.

Actually, I think if we can beat Adelaide this week we're locked in for a finals spot.

Carlton will make the 8 with a leg in the air

Actually
Top 4 for the Blues - they have a great team

Any analysis of who has played who are this early stage of the season?

For example, St Kilda have yet to play any of NM, WCE, Essendon or Adelaide

We trust that when we do get to play these sides they are not much improved from their current Premiership Ladder form

Next two weeks are vital wins
If we don't go into the bye week 8 and 3 there's a good chance we could drop out .
After the bye we play 7 out of the 11 remaining games against teams currently in the eight . And 2 more against teams on the cusp

Hope I’m wrong but we may just miss out with probable losses to Brisbane & Swans twice as well as Freo, Carlton and Dogs, 50/50 chance with Crows, Hawks and Bombers, wins against North & Eagles. Winning all the 50/50 chances and the expected games would see us on 11 wins meaning we would need to win 2 of my predicted losses to be fairly sure of making finals and the way our injuries to key players are starting to mount up it will be no cake walk even though this side seems to have a bit more depth and determination than last year

If we get to 8 and 3 then my belief is that we play finals!!!

St Kilda should never trade with Essendon and Sydney ever again!!!

We are better than the Swans Blues Freo

We will go close to Top 4 ..... if the injury gods stay kind

A finals bound team beats Adelaide and North
8-3 at the bye

from there Probably losses:
- bris (A), Geel (A)

50/50 games
_ sydney (2)
- Carl
-WB
-Fre (H)
- Bris (H)

Must wins
_ess
-WC
-Haw

so split 50/50 and win what should then 14-8. Do better in 50/50 games then top 4 probable.
