i'm still pissed that roo wasn't given captaincy that last year - even co-captaincy - so he could be honoured as the afl's longest standing captain. he deserved that accolade. but our club again showed its stupidity and ability to hide from recognition.

Excellent article. A selfless individual obviously respected more by those within the club walls than those (some) of us outside of them.

Even though I don't think he's best 22 or 25 for 2022, he's the emergency should Paton, Sinclair or Webster not be available. I thank him for his commitment and his example as what's required to play and what's expected from a true clubman.

I will be there applauding and thanking him should they or he announce that it's his final game for the RW&B.

Especially where he came from pick 58 in the rookie draft that year we took Armitage Howard Allen and Ferguson in main draft There’s always debate over what to look for when drafting goes to show there are no guaranteed formula

Yep, he will take on a Phil Stevens role as I predicted he would when he got this last contract. Win/Win. He mentors the kids and rookies and helps us to ensure our reserves are competitive, and he can come into the seniors when we get injuries.

That's real leadership!
