Re: Hawthorn moving training base to dingley
Time to focus on OUR training base, and to let other clubs do their "thing". Absolutely pointless exercise to waste precious energy (needed to build up our OWN clubs organisation) Whinging on about the activities of others. (In my humble opinion of course!) SO you allow other clubs to wal...

Re: Freeman has pinged a hammy again. (INCORRECT)
I very much doubt you'll see him on the field soon. Good stuff cheers Tony. There is no rush with this guy. He's got to get into full training, show he can cope with that then you start thinking about giving him a quarter or two in the ressies and make sure he copes alright with that. Its about sta...

Re: Anyone else feeling flat about this season?
Not excited. Modern football is a drain to watch, and if you're not in the hunt it's hard to keep the interest up. In the past you'd go along and hope for a Lockett bag, or Loewe to drag down 15 monster pack marks, watch a blew, see winmar take mark of the year, listen to crowd banter. That's all g...

Re: Jaeger O'Meara
Strikes me as another Freeman story, he JOM thinks they Suns.buggered up his knee repair/rehab and he wants out. Gees if we go after him with big cash we would want to be certain he has a long playing future ahead...? The difference is we see him either play or don't play this season. I don't see i...

Has any one who goes to training noticed whether Bruce does any hit-out training. Did he ruck at all in the practice match?
No in the practice match but we had 3 ruckmen on the ground.

Re: Hawthorn moving training base to dingley
A few saints players lived in Dingley during the eighties, so did a few Hawks players Liegh Matthews lived next door to Trevor Barker ( in Jacks avenue), there were quite a few Hawks supporters around the area, but this was due to their success... In the seventies .However I believe all types of zo...

Membrey a "tall forward" Must be missing something. Membrey to me is, at best, an ordinary medium sized footballer who can be very easily negated in terms of being an impact player in the forward line and a scoring player in the forward line. In terms of forward pressure, I see that comin...

Saturday night at 6pm may work It may if you don't play local footy. It wont for ratings and as a club that relies on TV rights I would say it wont happen. If parents wont take there children to the footy then surely 10pm on a Saturday night isn't to late for them to stay up and watch TV. My daught...

Did anyone else catch AR giving a massive spray It seems we are more easily pleased than the coach In his words "I'm not copping this sh**" Yep the game went for 60 minutes and he gave a massive spray. I'm sure over 60 minutes even the most positive supporter either laughed or yelled at p...

Explore a little bit Powerful words Hickey used his height to take two grabs. Wasn't paid one because he triple grabbed it and it wasn't paid... The other touched of the boot. He missed two simple set shots. His ruck work was better than pierce (expected) but he never won a possession around the gr...

I don't care about the 80s ... Irrelevent to now, and an embarrassing period! And believe any supporter proud of themselves for 'surviving' the 80s as its some sort of badge of honour are full of themselves... Not an achievement to be a supporter. What a weird comment. Full of themselves? Hardly. J...

Never felt flat about a season. And I've been going weekly since 1973 so I've been through some pretty dark periods. As usual at this time of the year I'm buzzing, cos in a matter of weeks I'll be doing what I love most. Having a few beers and going to watch the Saints with me mates. We'll win some...

Not even slightly. To many people want instant success. I wonder how some supporters would have survived the mid 80's. We are getting softer by the day. As for Essendon well its over IMO. Plugger, when the Stars played the Renegades at the G and they got 81K crowd it was an early 6pm start. Many pundits attribute that massive crowd to the earlier than normal start and the huge family turnout. My kids have Saturday morning sport - if they went to a Friday night footy match by the tim...

And how many children under the age of ten do you see at Friday night games? Not many by recent head counts, mainky because a lot of them have sport on Saturday morning and their parents don't want their kids out late. I know there aren't many but we have bugger all Friday night games. I know footy...
