Re: A look at our list
Lonie played well in the 1st Q but is a player who needs others playing well around him and as the game went on he didn't have that. In a team going well he will prove to be a valuable player. A keeper (in the hope we will improve).

Re: PR Issues
Obviously I have done it again. I have stopped more threads than I have ever received return comments.
Currently it looks like I'd better keep my thoughts to myself.

Re: PR Issues
We need a larger than life character to oversee the football dept. Someone to do the Balme role, Danny Frawley type but someone who can be taken seriously to project the club into the community. Mentioned before about dropping numbers on this site. If Saintsationalists could accept we are a COMMUNIT...

Surely someone at the Club has racked though the leadership groups at other clubs to find possible in form players that we could hit on like GWS, Melbourne, Brisbane and even the Eagles with Mitchell last year. These all appear to have had positive results. But not a scowling finger pointer.

Re: Saints in box seat for McGovern
Collingwood and Ball obviously had this all worked out pretty early on. One gets the impression that Lyon knew this was on and was most probably part of the reason for the ill feeling.

Re: Mitchell set to leave Eagles, return to Victoria.
A good assistant worth his salt should surely see that we need better coaching as we have a team which has shown it has the talent to perform well on occasions. If they believe they have ability then coming to us gives them the chance to prove themselves and raise their value.

Re: Rumour: Harves to coach us in 2020
Maybe the name is Waterhouse and he is just looking to create some odds
The harshest thing about Harvs being coach would be when it comes time to sack him, or perhaps he may get a better offer from the Hawks because he did so well with us.

So long as it is not a deliberate ploy to allow him to get to Collingwood. Been done before.

Will be interesting to see if Billings plays in the twos or is rested.

Re: 25-11 "The Noise Of Affirmation" Raise this with Gill Richo.
Hocking, in his latest statement, is wrong to say they will only look at trends in umpiring decisions because, if it is vindictiveness on behalf of umpires it may show as a trend but, if it is corruption it most likely won't.

Re: 25-11 "The Noise Of Affirmation" Raise this with Gill Richo.
It was suggested earlier that the AFL have more to worry about than our free kicks. I beg to differ, I think they should be very worried about the umpiring. As this conversation has progressed the idea that umpires may take it out on us if we raise concerns just emphasizes how open to interpretation...

Re: Do we still need a Pride game?
Same sex marriage is finally legal, so that battle for equality is done. I get the issue of discrimination is important, but does our supporter base buy into the Pride theme, or does it actually cause a smaller crowd then a non themed game?? Perhaps you have explained why we still need a Pride Game...

Re: 10 frees to 4
There was a five minute period in the third quarter when we should have a got a free in our 50, then they got 2 soft ones that both led to goals. WHE running into goal tackled dropped it play on goal. Yes, I could have been charged and expelled with uttering a public obscenity after that pathetic l...

Re: Board Challenge
Let Essendrug spiral into the basket case that they deserve. That should NOT be us. We left that bulls*** back in the 80's. Amazing. On Monday an Essendon member rang 774 to say he was giving up his membership because the board had not informed the members about increasing the coach's tenure. Didn'...

Re: Frees for and against saints
I thought at the time that players possibly felt they they were up against it with another poor decision taking the wind out of their sails after working hard. The same as when bad kicking lets us down, it did appear to be a visible response showing disappointment with the Savage decision.

Why not pick a rangey backman from the Zebs, who has never spoken to Ben Dixon, and stick him in front of the sticks. He may well kick better and his behaviour won't be as predictable.

Intensity was going really welluntil Savage was penalised , in the back, which gave them their first goal. Reckon there was an immediate and visible change after that.

There is an article on the Saints site about Jason Heatley's daughter at the Club. Perhaps they might get her to ask her dad to replace Dixon?
