3 years ago Port were a basket case. They seemed to have no game plan. I thought they might fold. Any good players they had seemed certain to leave. And look at them now. Had a few high draft picks, pumped games into kids, traded well.
We have to hope that is us in 3 or 4 years.

Re: Flog Maher bags "only 9,800 members" in attendance
I'm a member, but live in the UK. I used my digital member's subscription to watch the game. I'm in the 30,000 but can't be expected to attend. There are other digital members who would do the same thing both interstate and internationally. But Easter Sunday at lunchtime is a pretty good reason for ...

Billings will be a star. The other bloke will be too. Let's look in 5 years, and gripe then if Billings hasn't been good.

Re: Saints v Brisbane = review thread
In between the game freezing on me a few times, the outside run and overlap was missing. A few posters mentioned it, but as you wanted someone else looming up in support, there was no one. They will have to play together a bit, because last season they seemed strangers every game. I saw Lee do a few...

Re: Recovery List 2015
Gee, bad luck for Jimmy Webster. Still looking for a real break out season from him. And Luke D....another bit of bad luck. We really need to get a good run with injuries this year. Last year's carnage did not help.

Re: Richo message or saying
If we don't finish bottom then who will? I see Melbourne improving and GWS- and I don't think the bullies will drop off to the point where we finish above them. Improvement for us , will I think mean that we are in the game for longer , and not suffer any major blowouts. I'm struggling to see us wi...

Didn't take long. He got the word 'exciting' in there a few times. 'Incredibly exciting' when he hits fever pitch.saintbrat wrote:any clues to his chat pattern in the latest audio

He comes out with....'it's really exciting'...quite a bit.
I'm excited about this season, so it worked on me.

Nothing would surprise me about the 80's. 1987 was finally a glimmer, but those early years of the decade were hard to bear.

Re: flowering crocodile tears
I had already read that article, and for the life of me couldn't work our what Pert's argument was. What's he driving at? What's their angle? Without all the other teams, there is no Collingwood. And if we go the way of Soccer, interest will fade. There will be a big 5-6 clubs, and the smaller ones ...

Re: McCartin
I just read this entire post, and i think the main argument people were making against McCartin (and in favour of Petracca) was that, more or less, petracca is a better individual player than McCartin (i.e, more likely to win a brownlow). But I think (at least, I hope) that even those who vehementl...

He's no oil painting that's for sure. But you want your key forward big mean and ugly. Pretty boys don't run through people. If he can channel some Plugger, and not get suspended, our small forwards will have a field day.
