Re: Time for Wayne Hughes to earn his keep.

If I remember correctly he was pretty central to getting the Irish boys to the club... I think the next few years will tell us how successful that part of his role was. I know Tony74 was pretty bullish about one of them

Re: Jaxons come on down (2017/18 thread)

Jaxons, what are the chances the club/Kelly camp is leaking false info (Josh staying put) to alleviate any pressure while he & GWS have a finals campaign to think about? It's not out of the realm of possibility. Also, thoughts on Stringer to the Saints? Myron I can tell you only what I know. As...

Re: 2018 & beyond, what do we need?

https://youtu.be/uj3W8AUuv7A Last goal is with broken collar bone. He has the talent. 2018 will be his year. If anyone has an AFL live pass, watch the preseason game against Carlton. Yes Paddy was playing against an inexperienced back line, but so too is he inexperienced. I remember watching Joe Da...

Re: Well done Saints on a 4 Quarter Crack!

A lot to be positive about despite the disappointment... MacKenzie I thought had his best game, white as mentioned showed a bit. Forward line worked well post-Nick just need to kick straight.and great to see dunstan coming of age... and I genuinely believe we have a future Josh Kennedy on our hands ...

We've had a few players come along and really step up (Seb and Webster- I'm looking at you 2) guys who had to cope with injuries and have really advanced and become wonderful players. Then we've got players who just float in and out, had been drafted at the same time, who can't be seen as part of th...

Re: Saints drop out of race for Fyfe - Herald Sun

Kelly is a star and will likely cost us both our first round picks. He is the only one worth risking that for. Personally I would be going to the draft with two Top 10 picks. That's how you build a premiership list long term. Franklin - Pick 5 Selwood - Pick 7 Dangerfield - Pick 10 Judd - Pick 3 Ke...

Re: Positives: McCartin was good

I remember fifteen-odd years ago us getting spanked by the bummers (sorry couldn't resist) but one young nick riewoldt showing some signs in the last, kicking a couple. Admittedly, Paddy wasn't as dominant in the last as nick back in the day, but it made me think and above all hope. Talk of getting ...

Re: How many time how many excuses???

Yep agree with a lot of the comments here about lack of class and also the game plan. When teams put the full court press back on us, our skills and decision making can look deplorable. Plus our high pressure, high labour game plan means we fall in a hole from exhaustion. It might get a bit better ...

Re: Round 2 Team v Weagles

Good team, really happy with it!! Where has this Lonie negativity come from?? I can't believe it! He had 15 posi's and kicked 1:1. That nearly twice the no pf posi's that wright got!! Lonie is a ripper, a real team man and I think he'll be our small forward for our next premiership tilt! Plus he do...

Re: Congrats Nathan Wright

Except for his shot at goal all of his kicks were pretty much perfect tonight. Which is strange considering his only effective kicks last year were shots on goal. Regardless, I'm stoked for him. I had genuinely pencilled him in for a certain delisting early last year and now I think he has pushed a...

Re: Darren Minchington

I like him, don't get me wrong, but under pressure he is 50-50. Minch I mean. He can spin and evade and looks fantastic and his kicking can be very accurate, but as often he puts team mates under pressure with a nervous hand pass. For me what I want to see from Minch is a bit more time with ball in ...

Re: Sandy vs Willliamstown

To get this straight. It sounds like people think Acres is somehow being disciplined and should be in the 22 because he's a gun. Firstly He's not been disciplined or given tough love. He's had an awesome pre season, for a very big mid, he finished 4-8 in all pre season running He's a hard worker an...

Re: Match Thread v Blues JLT 2

Couple of little things I noticed yesterday... bailey rice didn't get a lot of it, but is very very clean with it. Membrey jumping at packs a lot more than I can remember last year, he was more a verticle leap, now more into on top of packs, a good sign.

Re: Match Thread v Blues JLT 2

McCartin is a bloody smart footballer, just body positioning and reading the play. Long got his hands on it a couple of times. Didn't show much but doesn't look out of his depth, up for the contest which is the first tick. Wright also looked pretty good, I had a couple overtaking him this year, i mi...

Re: Match Thread v Blues JLT 2

Impressed with billings' attack on the ball, especially in the first. Webster looking strong, the half back line is going to be bloody hard to split. Steele looks like an absolute steal. Tough as nails, constantly attacking the ball and the man. I'm really excited by what we've got with him. Bruce g...
