Re: Whats happened to Coffield
I'd love to see Coffield drifting back into defence and across the centre of the ground laterally, rebounding from a wing position, with guys like Sinclair, Hill, Clark, Byrnes and possibly Connelly running off HB in rotations from the other wing. Highmore and Battle can handle the 3rd tall defensi...

Re: Luke Hodge: 'Rowan Marshall makes St.Kilda a different side"
Yes. Completely different outfit. Strange as I thought he had very little impact today. Ruck work was good but not to his normal standard around the ground. Saints stand taller with him in the side. He actually doesn't have to do a whole lot (although he does, usually). As much as he makes his team...

Apologies - Rowan Marshall, not Rohan Marshall.
What was I thinking? Rohan Connolly?

Re: Whats happened to Coffield
Shouldn't be hanging onto puppy fat after 4 pre seasons. Sinclair is achieving his potential because he's worked his bum off Nick needs to probably lay off the junk food... and the play station after midnight (all that sitting probably doesn't help your hammies either) I'm not privy to his diet, no...

Re: Luke Hodge: 'Rowan Marshall makes St.Kilda a different side"
It's an aggression and an attitude thing It's the vibe But mainly....It's a structural thing All of that, but it takes the talent to make it happen. This bloke is something else, a truly rare talent. How did he do what he did tonight, off that 'limited' preparation? Truth is, they rolled the dice, ...

Re: Whats happened to Coffield
No 6 in the B & F in a finals year, in 2020. Obviously can play. Yet, he lacks a defining strength - not overly quick, not a physical beast, and nor is he demonstratively a high flyer. But, in form, with a good unit operating around him, he has numerous strengths. He did have a damn good year, l...

Worth noting the Brions beat Girlong last night with the 7 youngest players on the 2 team lists.
And, my, my, didn't the 'aged care' group fumble one helluva lot.

Re: Luke Dunstan
He's hard, smart, and people need to understand it's about the midfield unit, not an individual. The skipper sacrificed himself for most of the night (still got 25), and that allowed the unit to flourish, That's not a knock on Dunstan, he was fine. But, sacrifices matter. I've always rated Luke for ...

Luke Hodge: 'Rowan Marshall makes St.Kilda a different side"
N'er truer words we're spoken. An extraordinary talent. Natanui 'adjacent'. Great athlete, with football talent, AND 'feel' in abundance. Aerobic beast, yet touch like a midfielder. Tonight, underdone to blazes, yet picked up the whole side, at times, and carried them forward. We've been decimated b...

Re: Votes v GWS
5 - Clark 4- Membrey 3- Billings 2- Steele (great first half) 1 - Gresham Long was next best. And, therein lies the 'key'. To half time the skipper was exceptional. Then GWS devoted shirtloads of resource to reducing his influence. Often double teamed, generally tagged and scragged. So, wot did the...

Re: Thoughts on Bytel’s game?
He'll play next week, on a par with Ross, only behind Steele from today's game. He's a keeper, play him all season in my opinion. Others should be worried once Crouch, Jones & Hanners are available. The kid's a developing 'beast'. Interesting he's doing shirtloads of work on the track with the ...

17 disposals 10 contested. 6 One percenters. 58% DE His one Free Against was fkn dodgy at best. A great game. His first half in particular. Re: Has the AFL got the nerve
I thought all the umpires were poor. But a lot were expecting/ hoping Eleni would do poorly so she cops it all. All the maggots were poor IMHFO. By golly, we agree! Can someone explain the 2 centre bounce frees against the 'new boy', Turner? Wot? 'Knees up Mother Brown', after the adversary's 'knee...

I thought all the umpires were poor. But a lot were expecting/ hoping Eleni would do poorly so she cops it all. It seems the odd person understands. Got SFA do with an individual umpire, no matter their gender. It has everything to do with the relentless inculcation of every last institution in the...

bulls***. A game we could have easily won. Not blaming King and Battle but if they kicked straighter at crucial times and all those other guys lift and we come home with our tails high. Gresham, Long, Carlisle and Ryder play and Kent, Geary, Lonie and whoever the f*** Walton is become depth. Walton...

Yeah and usually it is our bread and butter. Lots of areas we can improve. They kicked 52 points to our 9 from stoppages tonight. That’s nothing short of an absolute slaughter. And, that's not normally their go, so go figure. They normally count on turnover differentials. Some of tonight was bizarre.

Re: Maybe Lonie and Savage on the move
There were big question marks about Jack Lonie's future two years ago as well. At age 24 and 75 games he is exactly the sort of player that the club needs in the upcoming years, and I would be very surprised if St Kilda don't offer him at least another 2 or even 3 more years, he is most certainly &...

From the heraldsun.com.au CLUBS CIRCLE SAINT LONIE "Jack Lonie has as many as four suitors – three from Victoria – as he attempts to secure a two-season deal from the Saints. Heading into the final against Richmond Lonie had played 12 games for 46 score involvements and a dozen goals as one of...

Re: Ratts backs Marshall
Ratten was always going to minimise the disruption in the back half. One goes out, one comes in. Wilkie will get first crack at Jack, Savage will likely start. They'll back Marshall to outplay, and outlast, Nankervis. Tigs have dropped Chol, so the 2nd ruck is irrelevant - Marsh and Battle can 'shar...
