Re: When the game was there to be won…
Yeah but if McCartin had become a gun for us it wouldn't hurt as much. The following scenario below was as likely as the one you describe in your post above If Scott Watters was a premiership coach for St Kilda we wouldn't have had to put up with 6 years of mediocrity under Alan Richardson Nah, I d...

Re: When the game was there to be won…
Good on the Tiges. Made all the right decisions and cleaned up with three flags. Meanwhile we dicked around at Seaford with half-arsed draft picks and clueless nice guy coaches. Those were not half arse draft picks. Petracca & Bontempelli together would have won this game. When you have low dra...

Re: To Make Finals ......
A win this week and we can really start to dream... Just shows what the last 12 years has done to us. We previously used to dream about winning a premiership. Now we simply dream about winning finals. How did we get this state? I think we all dream of winning a flag but to do that you need to make ...

Re: Match Thread Round 14 2023 V Richmond
It's going to be tough to win when our key midfielder is so down.
Not sure exactly what is up with Steele but he's really struggling to consistently impact games.
Good signs from Windy last night.
Kick those last quarter goals and we win the game.

Re: JB’s future at Moorabbin
Billings is contracted until 2025. Maybe they're looking at that contract and going we have plenty of time with him, get his body cherry ripe and then give him an opportunity.
If the coaches genuinely consider him a VFL level player then that contract is pretty concerning.

Re: Our midfield
The closest we have to a champion in the midfield is Steele. A two time All Australian, gun player of the comp when he's on form. He's the key to the midfield. Windy can definitely add something. Surely he's primed to come in and have an impact now. Owens can also add something in there but can we a...

Re: We’re just making opposition look better than they are
It’s great to be fifth at the bye game lewdogs problem is there is arguably ten or eleven better sides below us so could be very different by the end of the season. That may or may not be the case but right now they'd all trade places with us. Freo are in great form but would love to be where we ar...

Re: Side v Sydney
If it is played in the rain, No Parker, Mills, McCartins will hurt them. It's absolutely essential to get off to a good start against them. Ins: Owens, Windhager, Highmore Outs: Clark (inj), + two others Very true. They'll be missing a few big bodies. Rampe back a big inclusion. The midfield need t...

Re: We’re just making opposition look better than they are
I fear the style in which we lost that game against the Hawks has once again exposed the vulnerabilities of our list, the crack could also get much wider and the demons of our second half of 2022 could get into the heads of the players and allow opposition clubs to exploit our clear weakness which ...

Re: We’re just making opposition look better than they are
Don't forget the Giants. We scraped over the line against them, the next week a pretty average victory for them down at the Cattery Honestly it doesn't take a genius to see we are out of form, but the incessant whinging about how bad we are is fairly tiresome. 7-4 and fifth at the bye in a year many...

Re: Ross the boss
I don’t understand Last year, with the same list you bagged the fk out of Ratten for winning 11 games - with what you now concede is a mediocre list?! But at the time Ratten was to blame Now you pontificate about the fact we have a great coach, who has his hands tied due to a mediocre list Question...

Windhager for Phillipou Membrey for Caminiti Billings instead of Sharman- sub Membrey? He kicked one goal in the VFL against the bottom side. Are we seeing the decline of Membrey? I don't remember any games last year where he stamped his authority. He might've taken some saving marks in defence a f...

Re: Side v Sydney
Owens and Windhager MUST come in..both need to be played in the midfield. A punt maybe needed with Membrey coming in, trouble is he never plays well against his old side! It's hard to know what's going on with Membrey. He can't seem to even get near it at VFL level. It's a shame because we could re...

Re: Side v Sydney
So they'll be missing their two best mids in Parker and Mills.. Two of their best defenders in the McCartins. Buddy drastically out of form. This is as good a chance as we'll get to win up there. Time for our mids to step up. My understanding Tom Mcartin and Rampe will play against us.....2 of thei...

Re: Onfield leadership
If we are going to do anything this season we need Steele to turn his form around. He is a leader that leads by example. At the moment his inability to impact games is very worrying. Our midfield looks terrible but most will when your best mid is so badly out of form. Hopefully he can refresh during...

Re: Side v Sydney
I'd like to see Ross used as the sub. Reckon he'd be a great sub option, he's flexible and can play in most areas of the ground. He can be a player that comes on and has an impact. Billings as stated above would also be a great sub option. Using Sharman as sub was perplexing and borderline disastrou...
