Re: Stanley
The guy is 23 and 200cm. Give him a bit more time before you all throw him to the wolves.
Honestly the worst thing that ever happened to Stanley was winning the GF sprint.
I'd be prepared to give him another 2-3 years before I start talking about getting rid of him.

I think it's just the nature of these things… win some, lose some. Sure you've lost a few old favourites… But on the plus side you now have dragit, Dr Spaceman, gringo, oldmate, Con Gorozidis, stevie, HitTheBoundary, Dave McNamara , Tony74, sainterK etc etc etc… Let's be honest, the new breed are p...

I'd see an argument for Gibbs.
Would complement our midfield nicely.

Pick 41 for Patrick Karnezis?
Just wondering what people think of the above trade as a possibility? Highly rated junior forward/midfielder who hasn't come on as well as the Lions would have liked. Originally drafted pick 25. He is 21 and therefor fits within the age profile we are looking for and has had a few seasons under his ...

Re: Free Agents/Delisted Players worth picking?
Take draft picks please. I love the draft and believe in rebuilding through it too. However the draft this year is a bit like this 1-5 Likely Guns 6-10- Likely A Graders 11-20- Possbile A Graders 21-39- Possible B Graders 40+ who knows So picks outside of the first 20 are still valuable but no sham...

Free Agents/Delisted Players worth picking?
Thought I'd raise three players for discussion. Maverick WELLER- 22 Next year, Halfback/Mid, Another highly rated as a junior. Extracts the ball from stoppages well, disposal an issue which I think is a confidence thing. I'd consider him. Xavier ELLIS- 26 Next year, Mid, Injury prone and perhaps a l...

Re: Next year it could be a Hawth vs Freo AND Sydney GF
Mark Fine beat them to the idea. According to him, that's how we played all year. Young Saints (pro-Watters), Old Saints (anti-Watters), and the third team. A Young, has the ball, waits until Roo is double-teamed or running to a bad spot, then kicks the ball just over Roo's hands, or at his feet. G...

Re: Dusty
Would take him in a heartbeat! Future starting midfield of Steven (currently 23), Armo (25) and Martin (22) is a great place to start our rebuild. Second string started from Seb Ross (20), Jack Newnes (20), and Webster (20). With Hayes(33), Montagna (29), Dal Santo (29) and Ray (27) sticking around ...

Re: Dissapointed we were out tackled and my changes to the s
A pass? He didn't even touch the pill. Sorry, should say earns him a pass from too much criticism. Bullshite!! His job was to provide a spark when everyone had come to a standstill. Did absolutely nothing, particularly in light of what Matera did when he came on. He deserves as much criticism as AN...

Re: Dissapointed we were out tackled and my changes to the s
Using that logic Blake is 2cm taller than Hayes and a midfielder. Here is a line from the official bio. A skillful defender capable of playing on small and tall forwards You are confusing height with position. And yes Harvey once played on Jimmy Stynes in the ruck and towelled him up. However my po...

He certainly is not a small.... No, he's a mid size player !!!!! Oh thats ok then. I thought he was the same height as Fisher and Simpkin. My mistake. Re: Dissapointed we were out tackled and my changes to the s
Out: Newnes, Hickey, Dennis-Lane and Blake (For Fisher if fit) In: Montagna, Kosi, Dempster (if fit- if not then Schneider who would be sub) and Fisher (if fit) 2 smalls and 2 talls out 1 small and 3 talls in So you would make a too tall team even taller for another outdoors night game? Dempster is...

Dissapointed we were out tackled and my changes to the side
The most disappointing thing about last night’s game for me was that we were out tackled by a young side. We laid 49 tackles for the game!! Players who laid just 1 tackle Jones- Easy player to make a scapegoat but 14 contested possessions at least showed some effort. Milne- 1 goal and 3 behinds is b...
