Bit of a worry then for the last game in September if we start tiring after 12 games,we may well be exhausted by then....that's more than 12 games away..... Yes but the advantage we have over every other side except Geelong is we have wrapped up a top 4 spot so training can be adjusted to make sure...

ifhe keeps kicking a bag and being in the best then I say YES we are lacking a third tall forward and if the kid is performing then he comes into contention Has he kicked any bags for Sandy though? I think one week he kicked 4 or 5. Doesn't need to do that every week, but would want him to be in th...

I reckon one thing that's forgotton about 2004 is that sure, we were average in the middle part of the year, but by about Rd 18-19 we had picked ourselves up again. A couple of things to remember about 04. Our losses, by and large, were to the finalists often played interstate. ie Sydney at the SCG ...

all this stuff about winning 12 in a row no team has miss out etc.. its all rubbish the only win that gets you into the GF is the preliminary final win. its anyones game! bulldogs, carlton, lions, hawks, essendon....they are all a chance! Agree completely. How many teams have won their first 10 gam...

I love the fact that ppl are desperate for these third tier players to be given a go at the expense of proven seasoned players. Maybe these 3rd tier players should be brought in, so we learn to appreciate our seasoned players.

Whenever the form of Luke Ball is discussed, invariably comparisons are made with a) Judd and Hodge and b) his form in 2005 in particular. I'm sure Ball himself would love to get back to that sort of form. He appears to apply himself as well as any player on our list. Sadly he probably will never ki...

Don't know that the pressure's dropped (we still had something like 67 tackles), I think teams are simply more ready to fight the good fight. Note the focus many teams take on getting to HB and only then attacking the middle with handballs to facilitate the forward switch, or performing a normal sw...

reincarnated - where has anyone made fun of Kruezer? He was used as an example of how much the loss hurt the blues. I don't reckon any saint supporter would make fun of any player for crying. I reckon you've taken that thread by saint75 out of context. The fact that Kruezer has earnt more money than...

Didn't the poster say the thread wasn't intended to take the piss out of Kruezer, but to illustrate how much the loss hurt? I think the point is that the blues had set themselves in a huge way to win last week, and for us (the team - NOT supporters) it was just another challenge to meet. The boys me...

Agree completely. It's hard to thoroughly enjoy a game when you're not sure if your team is going to win. Watching the replay (knowing the result) gives you a chance to really appreciate how great the game actually was. In the cold light of day I found it difficult to be critical of any of our playe...

I guess ppl go for different reasons. I go cos I love footy. Being an AFL member I wouldn't even know whether it's our home game until I turn up and see the reserved ticket holders on the Axcess 1 side of the ground. They're playing in Melbourne, just get along and enjoy. This might be a once in a l...

Betts has been out of form actually. That's what my supercoach scores are telling me anyway. Bakes was serviceable, but Betts got away a few times and kicked a couple of vital goals. I'm still happy to have Bakes in the team though. If we're going to nit pick about disposal/decision making, then Len...

Crows in 2005 looked unbeatable at the half way mark. I remember they pumped the swans by 6 goals in Sydney. They also pumped us by about 40 points at Telstra dome. THEN Riccuito got some disease, Hentchel busted his knee, the birdman lost a wing and it all went pear shaped - and Harves gave them a ...

Leo? How do you think we played in the 15 minutes? I reckon it was the best we had played all year under genuine pressure. And that's saying something b/c we have played really well this year. Our skills and our hands were brilliant. Our tackling and pressure superb, and we just absorbed a 'switched...

[quote I don't rate Carlton as a quality side yet. I didn't either Leo - until Friday night. Couldn't see them getting close to us without Waite. The pressure they applied was as good as any team has applied against us for the whole year I reckon. THey had obviously 'set' themselves for us, and in ...

I agree Kaos. Teams are lifting when they play us, b/c they know they have to. Heard Daniel Jackson speaking on the radio b4 and he was saying what a huge game after the break it is to play us. You can't help but respect the cats when you realise what comes with being top dog. We're still winning an...

I didn't think we were overwhelmed at all. Carlton came out throwing everything at us, and we gave it back both barrels. If anything it looked like it fired us up at the start.

Made me laugh during the game - BJ got the ball and my mate yells out, 'Every time he touches the ball it reminds you Carlton of how you're all a big bunch of cheats - he could have been yours, but you cheated!'

I think he said it more to build up the game/excitement factor. Sort of like - 'what a blockbuster, both teams brimming with superstars' type thing. Not too dissimilar to the wanky pre-game build up's prior to the telecast where the bloke with the deep voice talks in overdramatic tone and language t...

I think someone who doesn't deserve to be dropped will have to make way soon. Either that or play Goose/Blake type player as a second ruckman. This hurts us in the stoppages though. The dilemma that I reckon the club wasn't counting on is the good form of Zac. I reckon they thought that once Max was...

Did forward pressure dropp off slightly?

Haven't got any stats to back this up, and I may be completely wrong. Just a gut feel that our fwd line intensity/tackling at times on Friday night isn't quite what it was at the start of the year. I noticed that many of Carlton's leading stat getters were backman. I reckon they were able to start m...

I was standing behind aisle 9 level 1. PLenty of support for the saints around there. The team that's coming from behind always has more support, as ppl tend to get pretty excited at the prospect of a win that was unexpected. I actually thought we had good support coming into the ground.
