Re: Malthouse? Worth a punt?
Why not. He's available. I did hear him say once, that he saw himself, "at some stage" making a return to the St Kilda footy club. Maybe drop Richo down to assistant coach with a succession plan for him to take over within the next decade? Throw everything we've got at getting Daisy Thoma...

Re: It's Your Call, Rooey!
This is another one of those occasions where I feel the answer doesn't actually have to be all or nothing. What we know about Roo 1) he's still capable of elite football 2) despite what he says, after a few gruelling games in a row he gets proppy and his performance drops 3) his preparation is elit...

Re: Billings!
I rate Billings, skill wise, but I thought he looked very hesitant, almost unwilling to attack the contest against the swines. Very disappointing. He also panicked a few times resulting in fumbles and turnovers. Not what I normally expect from him. He picked up a few possessions and kicked a nice go...

Re: Richo v horse
We need a cunning plan, milord We already have a cunning plan, seemingly one that requires turnips........ We wouldn't recognise a cunning plan if it danced naked on a table in front of us with a feather sticking out of its bottom singing, "Cunning plans are here to stay." (Blackadder goe...

We overlooked horse for our job in favour of RL in 2007. Oh what might have been! What a classical saints' sliding doors moment!

Re: Our Moneyball type rebuild has failed.
The general consensus is he's been very good this year, especially for a guy who's missed 12 months of footy. Tonight was his first poor game for the year. Most week's he's been very good.

Re: More Pleasure or More Pain?
Hang in there, fugazi. We've all got a bit of disappointment fatigue. No team has teased its fans more than ours, or delivered as much heartbreak (except maybe the filth). I've been on them for 47 years and the pleasure, excitement and hope outweigh the often major disappointments. What choice do we...

Re: Why do we keep getting thrashed?
We did it again! Lost by our exact average losing margin of 42 points. Only Brisbane has a worse losing margin average. The blows to our percentage has just about wrecked our finals chances. Port Adelaide in the weird crime capital next week. Strewth! What weird crimes are you talking about White W...

Re: Our Moneyball type rebuild has failed
A destination for players like the ones described by SR. "Almost" types. I still believe our recruiting and development coaches have a lot to answer for. When you look at our recruiting under Elshaug, it has been below average at best. Numerous picks that we let good players go for have be...

Re: The club, not the players
Hey all I like to read on here, don't post though... I find there tends to be too much criticism when people have an opinion that goes against the mainstream. Anyway, why is St Kilda so bad at developing youth? I believe we have drafted well... We have some genuine talent who would flourish in the ...

Re: observations from tonight
I'd like to be the swines fan who allegedly plonked 2K on the swines after round 6 when their flag odds were 101/1. Nice payout coming if they continue this way.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Swans Round 18 2017
Too many passengers - and too many smalls. Do we need to play Gresham and Lonie in the same team? I'd rather we played Connelan even for a small - for more balance. Gresham is worth 2 Lonies and Lonie is a liability. He does nothing constructive. Apart from a few magical goals in 2015, he has turne...

This just shows we are a fair way off. Not the good or bad saints. Just not good enough. Getting bullied by a bigger, stronger, more committed side.

He was a great grab. Seems to have no confidence in his marking. 2015 he was outstanding overhead.desertsaint wrote:thank god bruce is a decent set shot.
