It was like watching soccer players, touch them and they acted like they were shot!!!Grimfang wrote:Nah, you really didn't need to know the rules if you were a Lions player tonight. The umpires weren't going to enforce them on you.

FYUCKING UMPIRES FUMPICJKDpogwefklnj Not overly favourable from the umps but they are not the reason the game was lost. Opportunities not taken are. See this is what gives them a free pass every week. Saints have shot at goal with 30 secs to go if the umpire did not jump in. The whole thing reeks.

Re: Match Thread v Brisbane in NZ
wowweeee, where do you start. The obvious missed touched ball going through for a goal. The constant non holding the ball decisions..... or lets just fast forward to the end where roo is being held on, brushes past a player and gives away a free. Ball had been marked on the 50. It's a joke, disgrace...

Re: Match Thread v Brisbane in NZ
yes we have been terrible. But can the umpires sit down and read the rules about the holding the ball decisions? You take on the tackle and get caught it's holding the ball. Simple, not grey, it's bloody black and white. Despite this we do not deserve to win. We are falling down in so many basic ski...

waiting for it to happen. Dumb mistakes, dumb decisions. Second to the ball, not running in numbers. We look not interested. Big chance for richo to show his colours and turn the mood of this group around. Lions came to play and we have not... yet

A bit of Love during a hard period
We can all admit that even if we win next week and go 4-2 we are going to have some tough periods in the next 18 months. But it's great to see some real love and commitment coming from the whole Saints community. This is the time to jump on board. Watch these boys grow into a team that people will f...

Re: VFL review - great initiative
Anyone who has worked in coaching knows that you need to temper your criticism's with a positive focus. Otherwise the person will lose not only confidence but the want to improve. It's also directed at the members so a positive slant will always be used. At this time of the year it would not be usef...

Re: Changes for Round 3 v West Coast
In: Longer, webster, bruce Out: hickey(Stanley), savage roberton If hickeys foot is not great then rest him and send longer. If not maybe Stanley. Bruce comes in, gilbert moved up the field and savage dropped to find form. Kicking was too rushed and his gut running isn't there yet. robbo dropped for...

Re: Unsung Heroes
best thing is that they will only get better. Also both have the ability to hurt on the scoreboard.
Love the tackling and run given by the boys. Watch port today and see where richo will take us. Out run and out tackle them. Exciting.
Also liked delaneys game. Good body work.

Positions needing to be looked at gears and savage struggled in the midfield. Should make way for lenny and joey. Would not be upset if billings got one more game as the sub then rested for the trip to perth. If chips is not back I would look at either bruce or simpkin to help with the tall forwards...

Re: Sandy Squad for Northern Blues
Interested in shenton, seems a cut above VFL but perhaps the type to not make it. TDL is just depth. Great for markworth, hit the ground running in the VFL and a position in our forward line calls. A lot better performance, the young forwards get to learn the craft together before they hit the big t...

needs to put a month of hard work in at sandy and demand a spot. Will be one we have to be patient with, there is a few that if we don't crucify could come through. As people have mentioned, it's his tank that needs to improve. On the other hand I would be willing to demote him to the rookie list ne...

Re: Gilbert to play, really?
Came across as gilbo has a good history of coming back from injury and thus could fast track the rehab. Would be a welcomed inclusion. Not sure this is the game to bugger around in.
