Re: My assessment of Tony’s so-called “year of discovery”
While we are dealing with whingers on year of discovery at Saints these numbers highlighted just how well RTB has done in bringing through kids this year Note: 2022 King played 22 games ….this year 7 2022 Membrey played 22 games…this year 4 Games played by players aged 20 under 2020: 40 2021: 48 20...

Re: Footy Classified
Lethers is one of the most overrated football administrators in the game (I’m sure Tony will tell us what a huge loss he would be). The Hannerbury & Hill trades being his great claim to fame before inheriting a CEO gig from Matt “Fake It ‘Till You Make It” Finnis says it all. Hawthorn are welcom...

Re: Changing coaches has been a failure, IMHFO.
Agreed. I think this year has proven that Ratts wasn’t necessarily the problem, but the list in general (11 years of ham-fisted recruiting to thank for that). Where the club really made their epic fail moves was first extending Ratts’ contract for a further two years on the back of some early wins....

Re: I have worked it out.
I have us winning 2 more maximum 11 wins which is one less than last year I think? Disappointing from 5-1 Means we’ve gone 6-11 since r6 LOL - after the last couple of efforts - I could see 0-6 as a result Me too. Almost got done by the worst team of the last decade and we’ve already been beaten by...

My assessment of Tony’s so-called “year of discovery”
Nothing has changed. We had a mediocre team 12 months ago and we have a mediocre team now. You didn’t need to sack a coach (who you only reappointed for a further two years 6 months prior) to reinforce than within an 11 year rebuild, who’ve at best assembled a mediocre squad that can threaten a push...

Madness that we stuck with Richo for as long as we did.
Admittedly, wasn’t helped by Pelchen and Trout’s dismal recruiting.

Re: Some Perspective
What was brave about our ball use? What would’ve been brave would be to win the game with two on the bench. Not to spray the ball i50 and at goal. Agreed, our ball use was putrid. It was brave in the context that we didn’t get blown away. But like I said, Melbourne barely shifted a gear the entire ...

Re: King - Season Over
Bad luck for the big fella. Hasn’t been hitting the scoreboard much in recent matches but he’s at least been a target and provided structure, which we’ll miss. Agreed though, his body conditioning needs a lot of work, as does his ability to hold marks. Still a bit too easy to defend against in a one...

The run home
We’re still in 5th spot but will likely lose that to victor of todays Crows v Dons match. However, we will still be in 8. Run home is as follows - Sun at GC - probably lose based on current form and injuries. North at Marvel - should win Hawks at Marvel - despite the previous disaster, should win Bl...

Re: Some Perspective
It was a brave loss in respect to injuries. But, Melbourne didn’t shift from third gear at any point during that game and they still never looked like losing. Quality of our forward entries were hideous, turn overs from the back half almost as bad. No injuries, would the result have been different? ...

Re: Trading Marshall
Would have lost by 10 goals without Marshall. Still, for the right price anyone is tradeable. I'd certainly look at it if we got 6 No 1 picks in the next 6 years and a smattering of No 2 picks. I wouldn’t even entertain that. Who knows what GOPs we would bring in while the next Petracca goes for pi...

Re: Prediction for our game against the Cheeseboarding Mt Buller freaks
our mids will play to their rucks.. we win by 3 goals Our mids aren't the sharpest tool in the shed though Our sharp tool RTB will tell them to. Indeed. Ya know this? Grant Thomas's Saints beat Melbourne twice only, 2005 Ross-the-Boss's only lost once, 2007 Since 2000 34 games We have won 15..and t...

Re: To any administrators who still may be frequenting this forum.
Does anyone really believe that 'club administrators' are going to take notice of rants by supporters on this forum, they've got much bigger fish to fry, and the few at Linton Street that might bother to do so are likely to be volunteers who, like most genuine fans, accept the coaches judgments on ...

Re: Sharman on the wing?
He was filling in at half back flank. Howard, Wilkie and Pou played as the key position defenders. When he plays forward he's usually a HFF. When does he play the role of key position? You’re probably right. I think being a mobile unit is definitely to his strength, whether that be as a forward or ...

Re: Anyone have an update on Hill?
I’ve certainly been critical of Hill since he arrived (and rightly so IMO) but this year I think he has been one of our top consistent performers and can hold his head up high in a lot of games where many of his team mates can’t. Hope he’s ok. Agreed. He had an uninspiring start to his career at th...

It’s a footy forum. We don’t all have to agree and we can even have polarising point of views - so much so that barbs come out. However, while I know I’m far from one of the more popular posters on this forum, I acknowledge that while I don’t agree with some (maybe even the majority), we’re here bec...

Re: To any administrators who still may be frequenting this forum.
Mate we’re 5th on the ladder in a discovery year. Relax. Never a truer word. It’s a discovery year for the coaches. Next years team will have a lot of different faces. We are not a top four team- we’re not that good. But I have faith this current group of coaches/administrators are looking at the b...
