Re: Is this Ryder’s last season?
A very important topic. Seeing as how the club drafted Ryan Abbott last yr, and this year, McKernan and Paul Hunter as back-up... None of those really had an impact. Either they aren't really decent back-ups, or they haven't yet meshed with our midfield. But the club's gamble didn't pay off. So we n...

Re: How many games will Hannebrey play thus year?
Less than 5. I'm guessing he'll play one, then be out for 3 wks with an injury, then one or 2 more, then out again.
I would be amazed if he plays more than 5

Re: The decision to pick McCartin.
Barry Hall went from Saints to Swans. Punched a guy behind play.
Paddy went from (you get the picture)
Don't play for the Swans then

Re: Huge game this week
We seem to struggle with playing well 2 weeks in a row. Last year was a weird one, we backed up well. I really don't expect us to win, I think we lose by about 5 goals. Just hungover from the big win over the Dawks, the team will expect things to happen. Expect quiet games from Jones and Crouch, But...

Re: Saints V Hawks matchday thread
Looking at today's 22, I don't see Lonie nor Long squeezing in, unless there's an injury.
We have a few tough games soon, and we'll see exactly what we're made of when we play talented guys rather than what the Hawks dished up today

Re: Saints V Hawks matchday thread
bit of us playing well. lot of hawthorn having an absolute shocker. need to take another step up next week. suns seem to always push us and they'll be up for it after taking the crows apart today. we’ve won the last 5(?) against the Suns (i thought i heard on the wire less device) they’ll be confid...

Re: Saints V Hawks matchday thread
Our % improved from 67.4 to 80, which is great, because it's only Rd 7. Points For and Against are low, so the margin has a bigger effect than later in the year. We're 13th at the moment, above the Injectors and Blues, who play tomorrow. The winner will move above us and we'll drop one spot. Unless....

Another reach in the draft, well done! Phantoms had us with Shai Bolton He went 4 picks later - would’ve been nice Also Parfitt and Z Fisher were the next picks!!! With our club's amazing record of development, Bolton would be stuck in Sandy playing in swamps, getting the odd freak goal, but gettin...

Re: Team vs Hawks
Joffa says Hannas isn't one of our best midfielders, and at the Swans, he was elite. Agree 100%. 13 games, fairly uninspiring; the EF he did a handful of nice things. Hannas' efforts remind me of a Formula 1 driver who was a world champion, who is now in an uncompetitive car, usually at the back of ...

Re: Hickey, Bruce and Hind
Bruce has been atrocious tonight. Actually he has been atrocious for most of the games he has played since leaving. He's a dirty f****** arsehole too. Did you see him push that Tigers face into the turf? That was his BEST contribution of the game. It's what every player needs to do. Dominate...

What skeptic said.
Baroose is a downhill skier.
He can't turn the tide, he can't kick goals when it's needed, he just gets on the end of good play.

Re: Team Selection vs the Hawks
Long and Lonie have not been setting the world on fire but at least they have a crack and show some endeavor. Same cannot be said for Mr Undroppable. What message does that send to the group? If you are soft as butter and run around playing bruise free footy I’ll keep you in the side no matter how ...

Re: “Scoreboard nourishment”
We won't drop Hill, I'm backing him in- Sounds suspiciously like the stubborn favouritism lavished on Newnes n Weller. Our club is doing what it does best, now. Having a surprise win, and celebrating that for the rest of the year, ignoring the 14 goal losses that follow. Apart from Thommo's years, a...

Re: Training Fraca reported on AFL.com
Is it just me or is Ratten’s charecterisation of the ‘spat’ pretty naff? Nope not just you. He’s becoming more and more homogenised. I'm not saying he sounded like Jeansy, but I don't think it was that bad. Having said that, with every loss, he's beginning to sound more and more like Richo who over...

Re: Winner+Margin vs our next Coach
Whatever the result, I will be watching it on TV as I am not going to waste petrol money on this group at the moment. As I don't live in Melbourne, I can't boycott the games, but I actually hope all the games this year have very low crowds, because it would be a reality check for the fools who run ...

Re: Contracts ending 2021
I’m not Sinclair’s biggest fan by any means but he absolutely should be on the list. It’s been disappointing that he hasn’t elevated his game to the next level but he’s still capable and is depth at the absolute worse Reckon he’s been the victim of Ratten’s erratic structure and we just need to bet...

Re: Winner+Margin vs our next Coach
I think last year, the hub worked extremely well for the team as follows. In normal life, we go to work, do our jobs, and go home. In the hub, I think there must have been a lot of honesty and transparency because the squad was effectively in a closed training camp. There was nowhere to hide, really...

If we beat the Hawks, we'll definitely get rolled by the Cats.
After a win, the boys drink their own bathwater and believe they're top4.

Winner+Margin vs our next Coach
Clarkson will get a good look at his next team, does anyone think he'll be impressed enough to have a coffee with Finnis +Lethlean and talk about remuneration, or will he just respond to the emails by saying 'I'm flattered, but your club doesn't need a new coach, it needs divine intervention' My pre...

Contracts ending 2021
Kent , Sinclair, Dunstan. Kent is not going to help us climb the ladder. Hasn't shown consistency. Hasn't played this year. I can't see what the club saw in him. Sinclair- to me, a player who gets selected because there's really no better alternatives. I don't see oppo analysts worrying too much abo...

Re: So who has the story?
Sorry, but there’s nothing toxic. Just very poor form, zero confidence and obviously injuries to important players. The message from the coaches is perhaps a little stale but we are trying to find the answers. They are fit enough but poor ball movement makes you appear slow and lethargic. I’m ready...

The Saints App has details on the VFL game. It mentions Matty was on the wing, and gathered the amazing tally of 6 touches.
Was it a typo, or is it true
